Western Sunset

"I miss you mom" Western Sunset whispered, looking at the slightly mounded dirt that had started to grow some grass and flowers that her pack mates had put there. Sunrise had been the lead pupsitter for as long as anyone can remember, she'd even raised the current leader, Nightstalker, when he was a pup, and remained a dear friend and a trusted advisor to him for many years because of her heightened wisdom and smarts. The whole pack mourned her death, and now they all look to Western Sunset to take her place when she grows up. Western Sunset knows that her mother was important to the pack, but she barely knew her. She was Sunrise's last litter and she died the day after Sunset and her siblings were weaned. She didn't want to be a pupsitter, but she was smart enough to know that a future in pupsitter was the only way for her to rise the ranks in the pack, she also wanted to honor her mother's memory and this was the way to do it, and Western Sunset was going to be the best.
