"I wasnt born into a family,
i was born into a colour group.

i had pink blankets and pink walls
and a red hatred for the colour

i grew up into pink friends
with pink nails and pink cheeks
and i grew a green envy for their shades

she had pink lips and a pink laugh
and i loved her with a blue heart
that only she saw.

And now i must take the blankets
and dye them blue
because i am done lying in the rosy colour
that was my childhood."
