It was stormy out, rain was pounding against her fur. It was the dawn after her first year as the leader of The Abyssal Zone and for the most part things were running smoothly. Though the sky was dark and pouring with tears everything was normal.

Queens were nursing and keeping the older pups in the nursery, much to the older pups dismay. When she passed by she heard a couple chattering about running outside jumping in puddles. Their father, one of the head pupsitters denied the time to play, stating that it was dangerous.

Orca stood at the edge of the tunnel. A large towering gate lay on the other side. She had always believed that humans had once built this gate to contain whatever was inside. However, the past two alpha's Hephaestus and Zephyrus believed it was created by the first wolves. And like so many others they guarded the gates secrets with their lives.

When she was being trained by Zephyr to take over as leader after him. He had told her one thing so many times. Practically ingrained it in her head. "No one must know about the gate Orca, this is a secret that must be kept. I don't care if they see what can come out of it, but as long as the gate is closed off to outsiders. Then everything will be alright."

Though he never included it in his explanation, he had always hinted that one other pack was allowed to know of its existence. A friend of Zephyr's, though she wasn't sure if they were actually friends or just mere acquaintances.

Another thing he drilled in her head was, "warn others not to acknowledge the existence of the creatures. If you do they can take your form, and like the Faelcu they can replace you. Though they are not the tricksters the Faelcu are, they are far more malicious. Evil." Hearing that over and over seared it into her brain. And she never forgot it.

Now she stared at an amused version of herself, glowing white eyes that seemed to bore into her soul. She had take to call this Pollution, a thing known to be a true killer for anything living.

Rule number three, "if you see a creature who looks exactly like you. You are allowed to speak to it. They seem to enjoy it and it seems they appreciate the company. They tend to leave you alone for a while but it isn't permanent." The only thing she really memorized from that rule was 'don't speak to one who isn't a replica of yourself'.

Pollution let out a faint smile. "Orca," it said with a hint of amusement in its distorted voice. Another thing to tell if it isn't real is that they cannot mimic voices like the Faelcu can. Though it did sound like Orca's voice, it was distorted and off tone and key.

Orca smiled, coming to enjoy her fake twins infrequent chats. "Hello, Pollution." She smiled, the other Orca let out a soft, crackle-y laugh. "Good evening, my friend," they smiled.

Orca herself couldn't help but smile at the other's eagerness to chat. "So how's your children doing?" Pollution asked, their tail beginning to melt into a puddle of ink. They turned looking displeased but listened anyways.

"They're good, all my girls are healthy," Pollution smiled but seemed concerned. "I heard one was born deaf and the other has some bad imaging from the rest of the pack."

Orca sighed, "Omen was born deaf though she is getting along fine despite her disability. Aeraxtle is just unlucky, she radiates bad luck. However, you know why she has that curse."

Pollution pawed at the dirt, looking at their melting fur. "I know Orca, i tried talking to him but he won't help. You know how stubborn he can be, I don't know what more i can do but keep trying to convince him. Look Cyvaros tolerates me, and i want her to accept me being around Aeraxtle. Finding a cure to the curse may do that." They paused for a moment, "i just want to feel like i belong somewhere again."

Eppsari is just like her mother, not too pleasant to be around. However, she is useful, even if she rarely takes orders. I usually have to make her believe its her own choice but no matter. Pollution believes that her bad attitude and demeanor makes her strong willed, but once you crack the code then her control is but a small bit of freedom she's granted. One pawn to the whole chess game, and i am the queen.

Infuriating, Infuriating! Eppsarie was dead, and just after Orca had gotten her to the perfect point. Her best card now went up in flames…. It was all because of that infuriating pest! Comet killed the former lead and then stole 75% of the pack from her. This wasn't going to be a fun mess to clean up.

She gritted her teeth, staring over the lifeless bodies. All a mess, except Eppsarie, sure she had blood on her but all it covered was her muzzle and neck. It pooled cleanly under her, filling the cracks in the cave floor.
