Tarka

The most hesitant of Ourara's pups. She prefers to hang back and let her siblings face any potential danger. Once she has seen for herself that it is safe, she dives straight in to any activity with enthusiasm.

As she grew, she became curious about her father. With the pack's blessing Tarka set out to find his pack, promising to return one day and tell her siblings all about him. Ourara walked with her to the edge of their territory and pointed her in the right direction. Finally throwing caution to the wind, Tarka began her journey towards a large, beautiful lake...

Tarka was greeted with enthusiasm upon reaching Doods lake, her father bounding up to her excitedly to ask her questions about how she was and what her journey was like. She found him to be a little overwhelming but found comfort in Chelan who stepped in to tell him to lay off the poor yearling and let her settle in first.

As the days went on she passed the time talking to Alsec and fawning over his (proudly boasted) great feats in combat, which she later found out was actually hunting, but that didn't matter to her. She was impressed with the hunting teams and curious about the ins and outs so asked one day to tag along.

There was no hesitation from her father who started babbling on about her following him in his footsteps which made her chuckle. During the hunt she followed close behind Amaduak and Alsec as Biwa lead the team. Staying low to the ground she quickly spotted a rabbit amongst the brush and squealed in excitement, causing the rabbit to take off. Amidst the confusion wolves flew out of the dense undergrowth to chase the critter down, however it was clear it had quickly escaped.

On the journey back to the den, Tarka hung her head in shame. Belly to the floor she apologised over and over for losing the prey for them.
Instead of scowls she was greeted with soft smiles from the rest of the team as they informed her that no one else had seen the rabbit in such a grassy area and her keen eyes were actually a blessing.

Happy but confused she stared at her father who walked up and licked her cheek, telling her he was proud that she had such talents, and she would make a great stalker if she chose to be.

Having been a stalker for many years now, Tarka was toying with the idea of being a mother. However none of the other wolves had sparked her interest. Her favourite hobby was to lay by the lake and watch the other wolves conversing and interacting. She wasn't very confident with social situations, unless Chelan was there. She found the level headed wolf to be somewhat of a comfort to her.

Tarka decided it was time to pay a visit to her old pack, so saying goodbye to her father she made the journey through the tall trees and into the wide open plains of the prairie. Upon arriving she was shocked to find out that her mother had since passed away, which filled her with guilt for not visiting sooner. She spent time with her siblings, getting to know their mates, and catching up on old stories of puppyhood which eased her feelings and helped her to say goodbye.

During her visit she met a wolf named Heau and was taken back by his beautiful fur and soft eyes. She spent a few days watching him, too nervous to say anything until luck would have it that he made the first approach.

Alsec is shocked to find that his daughter had returned pregnant, but ecstatic that he's going to be a grandfather. He informs Yuukon of the good news and Tarka is greeted with warm, open smiles.

She has a litter of just one, a pale wolf like her, and falls instantly in love with him. She becomes a star mother from then on, teaching the pup the ways of life and making sure he grows up confident.

She finds that she's enjoying spending time with her son much more than hunting, so she makes the painful decision to leave the party to spend more time with her child.
