Alone, the glare of the sun peaking through the canopy, blinding the lost pup. She usually spent her time wandering, since being brought to the enclave. She wasn't fond of the mates that came by to take away the few friends she had made. They were also painful reminders of her previous pack, of the family she didn't get to have… But now, she finds herself waking up after resting from trying to find her way back to the enclave. Despite being lost, she was comforted by the flowerbeds surrounding the clearing. There was something about them that spoke to her being, she could feel them. She sensed a disturbance toward the edge of the clearing, blending into the flowers she ducked. Alert, she listened as two mates softly padded their way into the clearing. Faintly she could sense sadness coming from the female, her mate somber. Growing closer, she discovered that the two were from a pack nearby, on a scouting mission.
The two paused to take in the warmth of the sun, "you did everything you could Kimiko," softly said the Male, nuzzling into his mate.
Taking a deep breath of the flower scented air, eyes closed, muzzle to the sky, she spoke "I know. I'm being unfair to everyone who did all that they could. But…" the air was stilling, holding its breath for her to speak, "watching them take their last little breaths, it hasn't gotten any easier."
