"S-Storm, gah, slow down!" The little head, Wave shrieks, followed by the joyous laughter of her conjoined head-twin, Storm. "T-This is-s-sn't funny!" Storm laughed harder, tongue hanging out and running full speed through the forest, ducking under branches, and jumping over logs.
Unfortunately for Wave, Storm had full control of their-shared body. She was merely the "extra head". This brought a lot of doubt and insecurity to Wave. Fortunately though, the two were cordial for most of the time – unless Storm forced them outside of the safety of the camp and into the wilderness.
This time, Storm chose to make chase after a butterfly. Sighing, Wave hung her head as low as she could – she'd rather not see where they were going. Even when Storm came to a sudden stop, she didn't pick her head up until she felt a gentle, wet nudge on her cheek is when she finally lifted her head. About to groan and complain, she stops when she noticed why the two of them were stopped.
Mouth hanging open in growing excitement, just in front of the duo was a baby deer and its mother. By this point, Storm forced them to the ground, crouching submissively. The mother deer, unfazed by the two-headed wolf mere meters away, simply went back to eating the grass, as the baby stood.
Still unsteady on its tall and frail legs, slowly made its way towards the wolves, stumbling all over the clearing. After what seems an eternity, and of a wagging tail, the baby deer touched noses – with Wave. Beaming with joy and little tears pricking at her eyes, she gave a gentle lick to the baby's nose.
Storm & Wave was born with an additional head. As scary as it looks, the puppy seems to crawl and find a source of milk just fine using a dominant head, while the other head just mimics suckling jaw movements.
Namesake if I were to ever have children - Storm for a boy and Wave for a girl.
