Logan was stolen from his birth Pack as a young pup by members of The Sinned Divine, a cult infamously known for stealing and horrifically sacrificing wolves to the Creatures of the Night. The Rangers hunted down and killed the Cult members the moment they recieved news of their whereabouts in Emberfell. They were shocked to find Logan shoved into a small chest that was being carried between two Cult wolves.
Once they returned to Base Camp, Grimmlock, the Rangers, and Council members worked to find Logan's birth Pack. In the meantime, Johaan volunteered to care for pup, showing him the ways of the Pack and raising him as his own. Logan's birth Pack was never found. At this point, he was already an adolescent and had been with the Pack long enough- he was one of them. Grimmlock officially welcomed Logan into the Pack, allowing him to begin his training in his chosen profession as a Finisher.
On his first hunt, he took down a large Blacktail Buck, a feat even some of the senior Finishers hadn't accomplished. He never came back to The Academy empty-pawed. Logan showed potential at becoming the best Finisher the Pack had ever seen....
Unfortunately, it all changed one winter day...
The ground suddenly gave in while he was running through the woods, in pursuit of a large Elk Bull that the Pack desperately needed in the harsh winter season. His Hunting Party members abandoned the hunt immediately and tried to help Logan, who had fallen far down into an unexplored cave system. He suffered a broken leg from the fall and couldn't climb his way out- the walls were too steep. His Party members tossed him a spear and lowered a lantern, promising they'd find an entrance and rescue him.
The cave system was massive- his Party members, as well as most of the Pack, were unable to find any entrances or exits. Their hope at finding him alive dwindled with each day that passed. Logan was found by Lilith on one of her scouting missions, after 5 days of being missing. His leg was still broken and his fur and spear were covered in blood- his own and other's.
Not much is known about what happened in the cave, as he won't talk about it. He returned to the Pack changed- he was no longer the friendly, bright, lively adolescent trotting around. Instead, he became bitter, snappy, and standoff-ish. Only Johann, Grimmlock, and his best friend Dove know what happened to him in the cave.
Logan requested privately to Grimmlock that he wanted to become a Ranger, against Johaan's urging to not.
He went through a lot during his time isolated in the cave- he had scars, both physically and mentally. That much the Pack could tell. Grimmlock allowed him to start Ranger training despite this- he could see there was no changing Logan's mind. He bestowed to him antler decorations, though he didn't announce as to why Logan was awarded them.
Logan said his good-byes to the Hunting Party, ensuring they knew he wasn't mad at them for failing to find him. His best friend, Dove, knowing what he had been through, understood why he chose that path, even though she wasn't fond of the idea.
