After learning the location and identity of his father, Fergal Karst, at his mother's death bed, Rasputin travelled past the bounds of his pack leaving behind his childhood and mother. He was going to settle into his rightful place, and finally, discover pure acceptance and bring about unity with his blood family. Upon his arrival, however, he immediately felt his identity shift to that of an outsider as his dark eyes and foreign name boasted tales of distant lands beyond the Collective's territory. The unfamiliarity that clouded him was not lost on the local populace, and they couldn't seem to forgive him for it.
Rasputin was disappointed to find that he was not welcomed like a true son, nor the true heir to the Talus Collective.
He distrusts his father but still aims to please him, yearning to find admiration through hard work. However, he despises the sight of his younger half brother Setna who stands in his way of taking over the Collective. This pushes him further from his father and closer to drastic measures to achieve his goals.
