Taulumé

Taulumé rested, watching her pack from the top of the cliff. It had been many years since she passed the role of leader of the pack onto her daughter, and now, her great-granddaughter leads. She catches a familiar scent in the air - the cool crispness of the permafrost not far from them. When she first led her pack from the high mountains to the tundra, she did not expect her pack to move every few years... despite that, they always seem to end up returning to this cliff that she found for them all those years ago. These days, Taulumé acted as a source of information for those in her pack. She helps each new lead through the transition from pack member to leader, along with navigating the grief of losing their parent and prior leader. She helps keep the knowledge of nearby biomes for the scouts and common medicines for the herbalists. She cannot remember everything, but her wisdom helps them all. As she rests and watches, her mate Zayan arrives at the top of the cliff and plops down next to her, as wordlessly as is usual for him. He has never been as interested in the changes of the pack as she has been. tbc

You pad through the snowscape, the artic winds ruffling your fur, making you grateful for your dense coat. Still, you aren't used to this cold. There a few trees to protect from the wind here in the tundra. The wind picks up, and you lift your head to scan the area. There must be some sort of shelter around here. You notice a cliff face to the east with a few trees at the base. There. Something may be living there, but hopefully it will be hiding due to this weather. 

As you approach the scattered trees, you hear a voice

"You're trespassing."

You freeze. You were expecting a sleeping bear, not another wolf. 

You look at the wolf - brown with white underfur. She looks tired, as if she had just been out for a long while.

"But it's not up to me." the other wolf continues, "Follow me."

She leads you closer to the cliff, and now you can see that several caves open up from it. From one of the caves a wolf with a mottled brown coat stands up and approaches you. 

"Taulumé," The wolf next to you barks, "I caught a trespasser."
