Biography
See Tiphon and Criels about.
Valu was the son of a traitor. Fleetfoot the insane's top general was his father. This was made known in the "Grand Rebellion" . Valu had been an older adolescent then and bore witness to his father's and the surviving members of Fleetfoot's army's executions. He'd barely escaped the cut himself. The pack had ruled that traitors grown pups could be killed if they had reason to suspect they had been in on it. But Valu had not been fully grown and therefore was deemed an innocent. He was allowed to live his life albeit under heavy watch at first. He gave no indication of his father's extremism and even seemed a bit the opposite. Going on the develop a more gentle and nature loving appearance. Suspicion died of and soon the rebellion became a footnote in history.
Of course, that was by Valu's own design. He had infact, long since been indoctrinated into his father's empirical beliefs and worship of Fleetfoot. Most of the children of the traitors had in fact. Only the youngest puppies had yet to been taught their ways. All his fellow denmates (the adolescents) had been in the same boat as him. Forced to stay out of the fight and find a way to continue the mission if the Grand Rebellion failed. It had broke his heart to see them die. It broke all their hearts. They were lost with no clue what to do. They had no means to continue the mission. Best they could do was mate with each other and keep the dream of the Empire alive. Valu himself did not take a mate yet but maintained his beliefs. He and his posey stayed quiet and low for a long period of time, escaping suspicion but at the cost of time. By the time they weren't viewed only as "Traitors sons" anymore it seemed like the window had long passed.
Then came a blessing from what seemed to be the Emperor himself from on high. Tiphon. The useless daughter of Fleetfoot the Great (a name used only amongst themselves). Tiphon had been a pup Fleetfoot had borne with Akila only out of necessity and for appearances. Once their Rebellion had succeeded, Fleetfoot had been MEANT to kill Akila and Tiphon and thus, his ties to the old and primitive pack life. He would have then taken the overthrown Alpha Asakiri as his rightful mate and gave rise to the empire. (They were deep in the kool-aid)
But after they had failed, this had obviously not happened. Akila quickly disowned him (Valu planned to have her killed soon. It had been long enough) and surprisingly, Tiphon. This surprised Valu's group because they knew Tiphon was as unaware as the rest of the pack. So when they saw he slowly becoming more isolated, they encouraged it. They had no idea the payout for this would be so grand.
Tiphon had approached Valu alone in the woods one day, declaring she knew of his loyalties. He was about to signal his posey who had been nearby to eliminate her when she interrupted him and claimed she was the same as him and had a plan. Valu decided to humor her. Her ramblings were mad and delusional, especially since she saw herself as Fleetfoot's heir and rightful empress of the empire. An Empress. The notion was laughable. They all knew female were below males in the empire and the "Empress" is only ever a figurehead or placeholder. It took all of Valu's control to not give her a condescending pitying look. Especially when she claimed Fleetfoot was a father who showed her love. Imagine claiming the wolf who planned to kill you as a statement loved you.
But then came Tiphon's inherited genius. She had a pup. Unfortunately for her, the pup was unsuitable (obviously, the thing was female for starters) but she had raised and groomed her to follow her and continue Fleetfoot's legacy. So she needed someone suited to take her pup as a mate. Someone like Valu.
Valu saw the lifeline being present to them like a fresh elk outside the den. He took up Tiphon on her offer and took Criel as his mate. The group soon rallied around him and he led them to form a kind of secret society in the long abandoned secret tunnels. He led the faction along with Tiphon, mainly to appease her until she outlived her usefulness. After Valu and Criel's first litter with Coils, with the group now a developed cult, motions were being made to get rid of her once and for all. Thankfully Tiphon was too lost in her own head to notice the sexist teachings and how she was not the finale say on anything even if she declared or thought she was.
Then after Criel had Valu's second litter, Tiphon's luck ran out. She came to see her new grand pups and to help pick the next emperor and as the two decided on one, Valu picked him up and carried him out of the whelping den, beckoning Tiphon to follow and ordering Criel to watch the rest of the puppies. Tiphon followed, rambling all the while, not noticing Valu's posey slowly falling in behind her as they entered the main chamber where the rest of the cult waited for what they knew was coming. Valu placed his pup on the presentation rock and announced their birth to the cult's joyous cries. Tiphon started to begin her speech on how this pup would continue her and her father's dream only to be interrupted by Valu.
"That's enough. I won't have my sons presentation ruined by you and your fantasy."
"What…?"
"Oh sorry, too complicated you old hag?" He began to stalk towards her, tail high and ears forward. "I said, enough of your delusions you pathetic excuse for a female."
Tiphon, shocked stiff, shook her head and held her tail up as well, growling "How dare you. After everything I gave to you? Guards!"
Two massive males strode up to either side of her. "Show the traitor what we think of such disrespect!"
Valu sneered and nodded "First sensible thing you've said all moon."
Before Tiphon could process what Valu said, she found herself being violently shook and then thrown from the high ledge of the cave and onto the hard ground below, a sickening crack ringing throughout the cave as she landed on one of her legs wrong. Howls of pain started only for several bystander males to rush forward but before Tipton could feel relief that help was here, they instead clamped her muzzle shut and held her down as she thrashed.
"You were never in charge you deluded old hag. You were only ever a pawn. Hell you weren't even meant to live this long. When Fleetfoot's grand rebellion started you were meant to be killed alongside your mother as a tribute to our victory. " Valu's voice echoed through the chamber and he slowly and deliberately made his way down and towards her. "You lived because he failed. But you did make yourself useful to our shock and pleasure. You did as she wolves are meant to and had a pup. We didn't think you were able given all your failed attempts and miscarriages. And then you even made my dear Criel the perfect mate for me and handed her to me of your own violation. You father would be so proud" Valu mocked as he neared Tiphon who was shivering in shock and fear. He leaned his muzzle down to whisper in her ear "But now dear mother in law. It's time to actually fulfill your father's desires and sacrifice you to our grand empire. Don't worry. Criel and our puppies be used well in my paws." In a flash, his jaws clamped around her throat and tore. Blood pooled on the ground and a cheer rang out. "Death to the pretender, long live General Valu and long live the Prince! Long live Fleetfoot!"
Valu stood triumphantly above the corpse and looked upwards at the rocky roof of the cave "Soon my friends and family. Soon we shall achieve our dreams and no long be confined by primitive pack ways in the sun. The Empire will rise from these earthen tunnels and devour the pack from within." He sounded like a prophet. The cult was fully formed at last.
And this time. It wouldn't die so easily.
