Ollie spent some time around humans, his mother being killed by hunters. He and his littermates were found by a kind man, who had his siblings sent off to a wolf sanctuary. The man decided to keep Ollie at his farm because of his rather dog like markings, this is where Ollie thought he would spend his life. He loved his human friend, it was the nicest human he thought to exist, especially because all of the townspeople by their home were quiet judge-mental of the wolf. They said there was no way the animal the man claimed to be a dog, could be just any old dog. He was much too big, much too scary, making them assume he was also aggressive.Â
Ollie spent his days helping his friend with his daily duties, and would often be rewarded for doing such a good job. One of his rewards was being allowed to “hunt” and eat his own chicken every once in awhile as the man bred an abundance. The man believed this would keep him healthy, fit, and let him retain some of his wolf side, he only claimed the wolf was a dog so people would leave them alone and felt it would be unfair to completely strip that away from him, if it were even possible.Â
It was a small town, and Ollie would sometimes leave the farm to play and relax, there was fresh water near by and things to chase but he always returned to the man. The people who lived in the town claimed they didn’t feel safe, no matter how much the man vouched for the wolf, and gave both of them troubles, going as far as to threaten to “put the animal down” themselves.Â
The man started to keep Ollie inside the farms property, not letting him do as many daily tasks as usual to ensure he wouldn’t wonder off at any point in time, and even started to take him on hunts, having the wolf hunt down all kinds of animals he was able to take down on his own until he felt he was able to feed himself, without the mans help. As much as it saddened the man, he knew he couldn’t keep the wolf in his home forever, he felt as if it was ollies right to be able to roam and knew he wouldn’t stay within the property line when all his favorite spots were outside of it.
They spent one last day together, the man spoiled Ollie with meat and games, and spent the rest of the night petting and cuddling him by the fireplace in his home. The next morning they got in the mans truck, and drove what felt like forever to Ollie. They stopped and walked through the forest for what felt like even longer until they reached a beautiful piece of land by a river, and Ollie loved the water. He ran up to it, lapping up the fresh water before running back and prancing around his friend, but he could tell the man seemed sad. “Sit, Ollie” the man said, and of course Ollie obeyed. His friend gave him a hug, petting him as he spoke “this is your home now Ollie. And I’m afraid we’ll never see each other again. You need to be a wolf. I love you pup.”Â
Ollie stayed in this area for months hoping the man would return, there’s no way he could just.. leave and forget. They could figure it out, they could stay together. But the man never returned, and Ollie had to find a new home.Â
