From a young age, Ghost had been identified as one who communed with the Stars. He had been deemed Leaf Dew's successor and had a lonely puphood due to the fact his peers did not want to play with him.

They put him on a branch above the others which seperated him from them. The only pup who would play with him was his sister, Rosa. Not even their half-siblings wanted to play with Ghost.

He was different from other Herbalist apprentices because none had ever been officially chosen at such a young age.

But when Ghost was still in the Nursery, a young male named Aziraphale joined the pack. He had a love of healing and caring for others, and as Ghost was too young to begin his training at the time, there was no reason for Az not to train for the time being. But the Star Wolves decided to choose Az instead of Ghost to succeed Leaf Dew.

This caused a ruckus between the two young wolves, a rivarly of sorts. But not for long, Leaf Dew recieved a vision from the Star Wolves that declared a new role be formed.

A Seer. One who also speaks with the Star Wolves and helps guide the Herbalist.

Eventually when they were both adults, Ghost and Az fell in love because they worked so closely together and bonded with one another.
