🔥 The Ashlands
The Bloodguard act as a pack of their own, distanced but not entirely estranged from the pack of Silver Skies. After a newcommer their leader, Diablo, sowed discontent with the diplomatic way the pack was run by the founder of Silver Skies. There was a small battle that ended with a tense agreement:
The Bloodguard would be given their own territory in an area of the forest ravaged by recent wildfires called the Ashlands, where food was scarce and could not sustain a large population. They could live by their survival-of-the-fittest ways, drive away outsiders as they pleased, and train their pups to be fierce in battle, but they were only to be allowed in the rest of Silver Sky's territory by invitation. Such an invitation is usually only granted for mercenary work, driving away threats to the territory in exchange for generous amounts of prey.
The Bloodguard wolves take both an oath and a new name when they join the pack(often given names by the leader that are meant to impress or frighten), and any wolf that shows themself to possess sufficient combat skills are allowed, but life is harsh in the ashlands and many that join the pack soon find themselves fleeing or driven away, for a useless wolf has no place among the Bloodguard.
There are rumours that the red coloring that is common amongst the Bloodguard's coats is a curse for the battle they started, while others swear they let the blood of their victories stain their fur as a trophy. Sometimes the members of the Bloodguard convince young wolves into joining their pack by suggesting their red patterns mark them as destined to join.
