Ripper growled, her head bowed protectively over the young pup. She hated to hear the words, but she knew they were true. The Bloodguard had to keep constantly on the move to seek out prey in the devastated Ashlands, and often had to risk more dangerous hunts to ensure something was brought home. She believed the blind pup could find some role other than hunting to support the pack, puppysitting, perhaps, but he would still need to keep pace with their migrations. The Bloodguard couldn't afford to slow down for her pup's sake. He would need to learn quickly.
