Things that go bump in the dark | Hollow x Enjolras

"Demon, huh? I expected as much." He stated, watching the hounds, hearing their hearts beat and the smell of their blood, he leapt towards one, and grabbed onto it, avoiding its sharp teeth which snapped at him, trying to rip him apart, but he was stronger, even when starving.
"If you'll excuse me, it's dinner time." He said, effectively and swiftly snapping the hound's neck, before baring his own teeth and burying them in the dead animal's neck, feeling his strength returning. It was over in minutes, and the corpse tossed aside.
"Now.. where were we? Hmm.." He said, taking down hounds as he went.
Making sure to make it a show, and a sight. Leaving the hound's blood where it was, just a slight smear of red around his mouth and chin, some on his own neck. Messy, but perhaps it would intimidate the mortals.

Well, that explained why he was being hunted. Considering humans tended to be a vampire's primary food source it wasn't unexpected. Massive hands swung forcefully, dragging them as deeply as possible into the smaller bodies. Down falls one, two, then three. That left one more remaining. He shrugged at that, the other could take care of it were it to become a problem.

More interesting would be felling some of the overconfident skin suits. Charging forward once again, he directed his attention towards the nearest attacker. Pinning them to the ground in a rough tackle, he drove his claws down through their upper torso, high enough to cause at least one punctured lung. Gasping and choking confirmed that his aim had been accurate, leaving the suffocating human to suffer on his own and staring towards a second target. This one fell forward, saved at least momentarily by the chainmail top they had hidden away. Fine, it didn't really matter. Not when the same action through the neck would cause a similar outcome.

Pulling his hand back, the flesh slid off and collapsed back to the ground. He had missed this. His next target wasn't far off, stepping a heavy foot on the struggling form disrespectfully before starting after the next closest hunter.

The vampire relied mostly on stealth, getting away easily if need be, and discreetly. However, these mortals were not deserving of stealth, so he had made sure to be as noticeable as possible.

A neck snapped there, more drawn out versions there. Few bones getting broken on one man, leaving him to suffer for a good long while. He wanted them to. If they had the nerve, they deserved it. All of them.

The other creature certainly was impressive, and indeed, a decent help, not that he would ever admit to thinking so.

All this, over just one incredibly dull woman, a meal made. How was he supposed to know she mattered to someone? This was the very definition of overreacting, in his mind. When he had had enough of doing the killing, he, in the blink of an eye, left his human form behind, taking on that of a crow, as black as the darkest night, and sat perched on a corpse, merely watching, waiting, intensely. The bird had the perk of flight, which, if the need arose, would most certainly come in handy.

The demon knocked over another mortal, wasting no time in disposing of this one. He spared one more glance over at the other before turning to find a new victim. Wait. Viverce didn't see the man. His gaze narrowed, his host was still nearby. He could feel him and besides, he was often forced to return to them if too much distance accumulated between them. That could be delt with later, more pressing was removing the few remaining threats.

Only a handful remained, most of them turning their attention to the shadowing mass while the last dog continued to bound in the direction of where he had seen. Animals were stupid, but he would get to it soon enough. The humans were closer, in fact a pair were only a few strides away. Thundering up to the duo, he grasped one in his hand and flung it. Before it could hit though, a burning sensation filled his lower gut.

Snarling at what he anticipated to see, his head snapped back in an eerie way. A handle protruded from his abdomen. Seriously? What a pain. Grasping the individual, Viverce lifted the human and slammed them down as harshly as he could before turning to investigate where he left the man.

He preferred to watch, this time from above, having taken flight, circling the fortress, and the corpses. He dived down, headfirst, and landed on a boulder behind the creature, still idly watching. He had to admit, the creature could fight, and, if he was lucky enough, he could snatch up a corpse that, with even more lucky, it would not be cold yet.

Interesting... He thought, as the creature was attacked, and struck.. or perhaps impaled was a better word, and was seemingly unharmed.
Just as the man was, quite obviously, beyond saving, he let the crow shape go, with a slight ripple going through the dark feathers, and instead, his human form was on the same boulder.
"Very impressive. Especially the whole, slamming them into the ground thing. I'd give it an 8 on style, minus points for taking a hit, and even further for ... mess. Sooo... all in all, 2." He said, his tone louder than it needed to be as he got up from his seat, knelt by a body, pulling a knife out from somewhere beneath the cloak, along with a glass vial. "Hm. Still warm. You don't mind, do you?" He turned to the creature, watching.

"Well, he won't, but do you? You can object all you want, because I am going to carry on anyway, it's not like he will miss it, nor need it."

He rolled his head at the banter. "If I had known it was a performance, I would have put on a better show." He answered sarcastically, standing upright in order to drag the metal from his body. Doing so caused a soft mist to flow from where the blade had been imbedded. Humans and their annoying tools. Well, the night was still young enough that he should be able to recover before sunrise. If not, then he had just wasted all that power on one simple mistake.

Ominous eyes spared a lazy look at his new partner, then at the man he had just finished, flicking a hand simply. "Have at it. I have no use for a corpse."

The only sort of sustenance he required would be something this vampire would have to provide and at the moment he was doing just fine. Glancing around, he was a little disappointed to see that things had finished so quickly. The beast was never very good with taking his time. Though it was probably for the better, considering any more combat now would have only caused more stress on the leaking tear.

"Care to share your name? Considering you already know mine, I find it only fair, friend."

"In my opinion, battle is a show. Of skill if nothing else." He stated, before carefully, going to fill up the vial, using the knife as a means to do so.
"A little something for the road." He put the full vial away in a pocket, and straightened up.

"I do appreciate you not objecting to my particular habits. They are a necessity after all." He continued, wiped the blade clean on the dead man's cloak, then put it back into its scabbard, before returning to his previous seat, looking as unbothered by the scene as ever.
"I suppose you should know it. It is Préachán. Now, care to tell me something in return?" He asked, leaned slightly forward.
"What is it that you want from me? I would like to find out, before I even consider you a friend, because I am very interested in knowing what I am in for." He stated, opened the vial and took a drink from it.

"First things first. What are you? Aside from... the obvious shadow bit, strength, and so on. Second, why help me? Most consider the likes of me to be a plague, and obviously, want to end my existance. Very rude, if one asks me. All I did was take a little bite. I mean, come on, I need to live as well, and yet they go out to hunt me as if I were a simple animal. The nerve. Oh well." A smirk on his lips, as he stood up.
"Say... you wouldn't happen to know how to fly, would you? Very convienient mode of transportation, if one wants. Faster too, and completely invulnerable to that damnable sun. Awfully convienient for many reasons, such as stealth. So, what are you planning to do next, now that you can do things? Surely, there must be something you desire to do? Revenge? Wreak havoc on an unsuspecting village? Slaughter cattle and cause a famine? Something else?"

What did he want from him? Well, it was quite simple to him. He gave himself a once over as he questioned what he was. There really wasn't much apart from the shadow bit. "I suppose I could be considered a demon. Despite only sharing two traits with them. I gained my physical form from a particularly chaotic night." His first few weeks were a bit of a blur but he recalled the fear that influenced his body, making him bigger, stronger, more violent. While he couldn't recall many of the events in the beginning of his life, the terror and panic he absorbed was easy to relive. Unfortunately for him, he was cut off from that easy to obtain source quite quickly.

"As for why help? It's surprising you haven't put that together. You required something I could give and I required something you had. I believe it's what you call a 'win win' scenario. I couldn't care if you were human, a monster, or vampire as long as I get what I want." An eye quirked at the question of flight. He hadn't flown himself, though depending on what was available, he could hitch a ride on creatures capable of flight. "I don't have wings, Préachán, if you didn't notice. My preferred mode of travel tends to be through shadows. There's no friction in the dark, so it doesn't take long to travel, granted I have a decent route."

The monster grinned at the suggestions, being reminded of the chaos he enjoyed so much. "All you really need to know my friend, is that wherever you go, chaos will follow. Perhaps you will spawn new tales of a vengeful monster." He proposed, offering a loose hint at his primary goal. Viverce was still irritated by the clan that had forced him into his current restraints, as well as the bastard that had killed his most recent host. It was pretty much tradition by this point to cut off the blood lines that intervened with his adventures. It was incredibly enjoyable to release his irritation at being forced into his boring pacified state.

"Suppose. It is a classification as good as any. As for me... well, I am two things. One, a vampire, but that I do suspect is obvious. Two, I am a shifter. Limited to one other creature." He said, watching the sky.
"Oh I have, I just thought you may had had another reason, though, I figure a form is as nice as any, no? Thank you for the timely intervention, however." He carried on, fiddling with the feather on a cord around his neck. That the other creature was  not able to fly hardly bothered him, he could be useful either way.
"I have no wings either, and yet, I can fly. How, one may wonder. This form is a decent form but, limited. My other form has wings, it is very convienient. It is significantly less limiting. No one suspects a bird is in fact a vampire in disguise."

He was up for chaos, he was, if it meant wreaking it as he saw fit.
"I do believe this will be so much fun. Care to terrorize a village with me? The remainder of this village, I want them to feel terror... before I end them..."

"Something like that." The beast chuckled at the small comment, he wasn't too picky as long as he could actually do something. He gave a silent nod as he continued to talk, being able change your form into something common would be a good disguise. While he couldn't fly or change into something less suspicious, shadows were a convenient way to travel. More so now that he could follow a moving shadow.

His eyes seemed to quirk a bit. "After you." He spoke with a bright grin. "It'd be very enjoyable to cause some fear. Perhaps you'll even make a name for yourself." The suggestion was loose, though a shape shifting, violent vampire and an aggressive monster was likely to spread in the wind.
