What was/is your Starter Wolf like?

@CrownOfRoses Thank you so much!

Stella signata is a term that comes from alchemy, like yliaster (my pack's name). It comes from some obscure document written in Latin by a German alchemist, Martin Ruland the Younger, in the early 17th century (who was also interested in immortality btw). It's another name for Lucifer, the Morning Star, although in the occult the meaning gets a lot more complex, transcending beyond the terms we're used to. Stella signata is the same as Prima Materia, the name ancient alchemists and philosophers used to refer to the fabric of the universe or world's soul, the raw essence of everything around us. That's the best I could do to explain it here, and tbh, I'm no expert by any means - I just thought it's really cool

And I agree! Moss and Anwnn are beautiful bases. I also like Storm from The Cataclysms event, I think it's a bit underrated.

Thank you for the kind words! Although my lore is still WIP, I hope to make a thread telling the actual story.
Mikke is one of the more interesting characters for sure. He used to be a nasty little princeling who gave my current lead his terrible scar, but now that he's gotten older he softened up a lot (even though he still has some toxic traits). He's the son of Stella and raffle stud Hephaestus (which is very fitting actually, out of all the raffle studs, it had to be the one named after a Greek god ).

That's a really interesting bit of trivia! I know you said that you're no expert on it but that was really in-depth and I feel you explained it well. I'll have to look into that a bit more myself now...

And I'm being genuinely honest, they aren't just kind words! I really enjoy the lore and can't wait to see what chaos and drama occurs next. I have a feeling Kyllikke's paranoia is going to be a catalyst for something, although for bad or good?

Oh, and on the topic of starter wolves, I've actually got two wolves related to Camellia (although very distantly) that happen to be the offspring of your stud, Taymyr! I knew his name seemed familiar so I took a look and it turns out he's the father of Colette and Capucine. I actually really like how they came out personally so it was a pleasant surprise.

"I have a feeling Kyllikke's paranoia is going to be a catalyst for something, although for bad or good?"Your guess is as good as mine I kind of go with the flow, so anything could happen! Is it just an old king's paranoia that will pass away with him? Or are they visions of what may yet come to pass? Or worse still, will he act out on his fears and become his own worst enemy, wrecking havoc in his own pack?
Also, I'm amazed you read that far omg thank u!!

Aaah that's amazing! Is the letter "C" in both of their names an intentional homage to Camellia?

Well, I can't wait to see where the flow takes you! And when I get invested in a good story, I just have to finish it. I'm the kind of person when it's late at night to go, "Eh, just one more chapter..." and be still awake reading at some crazy hour in the morning. Honestly, though? Any of those outcomes with Kyllikke sound very interesting to me.

And yes, it is! I'm glad to see you picked up at that, I wasn't sure if it wasn't obvious enough. The fact their names are both French is also a homage to their mother, who also had a French name.

Well, our boy ended up a colorbomb when at first we swore against them because we didn't like the unnatural color, and now our entire pack is dedicated to colorbombs lmao. We went with the charming personality and Olive eyes. We couldn't have been more proud of him though. link

I started in early September of 2022, when i saw it on Tiktok and fell in love.
This is my starter wolf, Amber

She is a very charming and charismatic wolf who start her pack in the grasslands, pack naming Ashleh. Then they moved to the deciduous forest for awile, until she feel in love with the prairie. She moved her pack there and renamed her pack Prairie Wolves. Like praire dogs but with "wolves", instead of "dogs".

This is my other starter wolf, Ghost, an independent and stoic wolf, who is also her mate. Wolves with their personality usually don't get along, but they say opposites attract.

I joined not-too-long ago, back at the end of December 2022. I was on a streak with browser games and I decided to give Wolvden a shot. The game grew on me and I sorta stuck around as a result!

My first starter wolf was named Arne. I didn't have a solid design in mind when I first started creating him, I simply wanted a black wolf with a couple of distinguishing markings. The end result was far from what I had envisioned, as Arne, although his base is black, is primarily gray-and-white. I'm actually very fond of his design! It's simple, but I like the intricate patterns his markings created (namely on his face). I also have a soft spot for natural-looking wolves, which is perhaps one of the main reasons why I never bothered to touch Arne's design, save for a few scars and decor.

Funnily enough, his personality is Dutiful! I'm not sure why, I guess I wanted my first leader to be hard-working and determined, always putting his pack and kin first.

I have several headcanons for Arne and his story! I always imagined him as someone usually calm but fierce in combat. An experienced hunter and traveler, and also a collector of various battle trophies (hence the wolf tail around his neck). Over his journey, he also obtained numerous battle scars; with the most notable one being on his left back leg. He also sported a few facial scars that I moved to different wolves for some reason? faded over time. At some point in his life, he befriended a pet raven.

My second wolf, named Toril, was actually Arne's mate. Her design was extremely basic (white with beige back) and I never grew as fond of her appearance as I did with Arne, perhaps that's the reason why I never bothered to save her records when I death-rolled her. I wanted to go for some black-and-white duality, as Toril was a white she-wolf with blue eyes in contrast to Arne being a black wolf with amber eyes. She was my pack's first pupsitter, though! And since she was pair-bonded to Arne, they adopted quite the number of puppies (with my now-retired scout, Laeroth, and one of my pupsitters, Anemone, being honorable mentions).

Arne and Toril didn't end up having that many litters on their own, they had only two (with their first litter being my first ever litter born on Wolvden). Their last surviving daughter is Sigrid who takes mostly after her mom. As the last surviving offspring of my first lead pair, she holds a special place in my heart. Another puppy of Arne is Hickory! Her mom is not Toril, as Arne was (regretfully) my stud for most of his life. Nonetheless, I love Hickory because she is such a loyal copy of her dad lol

Toril died a few rollovers before Arne, and I'd say that those few rollovers were strangely hard for me. I felt so bad for Arne, losing someone who was by his side practically his whole life. Although I never grew too attached to Toril, I never knew how hard her death-roll would hit me.

Shoutout goes to Vidar, my third wolf. He was some sort of a mentor figure to Arne, other than being his best friend. Vidar was really basic, like really basic. In fact, that guy's design was so forgettable that I cannot even remember his base! I think it was cream, but I'm not sure. He also had no markings. On the other hand, he was my first ever hunter, and then a respectable mentor of the pack. Vidar died quite early on, as he was reasonably older than both Arne and Toril (Vidar was over 3 years of age when I befriended him).

All in all, despite me absolutely loving the 'second gen' of my pack that came with my new lead, her mate, my new herbalist, new scouts and a plethora of new hunters, my starter wolves have a special place in my heart, regardless of them being rather basic in appearance. They're integral to my pack's lore and they made my first days on Wolvden a little bit easier

@Elli thank you so much for sharing, I loved to read it. Arne is very handsome, definitely one of the more memorable starter wolves out there. I would have been so proud of him too, and I think it's so sweet you've kept Sigrid

@☨𝖋𝖔𝖒𝖔𝖗𝖎𝖆𝖓☨ Thank you so much for the kind words! I had a lot of fun writing it, so I'm glad you enjoyed the read! This thread is a lot of fun in general, as I had a blast going over all the different designs (and lore!) others came up for their starter wolves

This is my starter wolf, Ishtar! She originally had no marks at all and had a glaucous base and blue eyes. She's combative now but started as adventurous, which I still sometimes swap her back to when I want to do some biome changing. I didn't really design her, she just developed with time really. She's named after the ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love and war, which ended up being the theme of the pack. I'm hoping to have a lineage based on her, with her daughter being the next leader, but I'm waiting for her stats to be a bit better before I pick her heir. I love her so much she's my baby ❤️❤️
