After experiencing this update for awhile, I just gotta say, I love it so much!! It makes me so happy seeing my wolves have more life to them, and their unique personalities all shine so well together! Keep up the good work, Wolvden team :D

Also I find it amusing that the a few of the pupsitting personality quips are describing how boring or tedious the job is LMAO seems like the wolves know that the pupsitter role is something all adult wolves who don't fulfil any other roles to the pack will be stuck with xD

I just noticed on my wolves page it says 'variant' and 'default' across from that. What does that mean?

Edit: sorry, nevermind. Didn't notice it before and thought it was new. Refers to wolf's pose variant.

The socializing seems interesting! I may not use it much if it means risking lowering mood though, so I may just interact with it until I get the achievements. Me need moar achievements. (Edit: Forgot to say, flavor text is always cute. <3)

I've seen a couple comments on the mutation though, so I wanted to say something on that. I don't think adding mutations is downplaying them at all, for a number of reasons:

  • When it comes to the lethal mutation art, none of them look happy. At most, they look neutral. They're not unrealistically jumping around, all upbeat. Conjoined Twins is the most lively out of them all, but it feels like they're at odds with each other, so they're using their energy to bicker with their twin. Polycephaly in particular stands out for the discomfort it exudes.

  • When a lethal mutation is born, the message you get alongside the pup is by no means silly or fun. It makes it clear that the mutation is unusual, and as the pup gets older, the messages get more depressing. And when the pup dies (assuming it wasn't immortalized) then the death message can be heartbreaking. The game is straightforward about how these lead to the pup struggling to survive. There is no glorifying to be found. You can see the messages here, but TW for those who need one.

  • This site is played (or at least should be played) by sixteen year olds or older. We should all be old enough to understand that a lethal mutation is nothing fun or quirky, and have the emotional intelligence to separate the game mechanics from its real life equivalent. Most of the site partakes in breeding for breeding's sake, but we're not pro-puppy mill or glorifying the mass-breeding of pups, are we? We're merely playing the game, and that means making money and achieving our in-game goals. Selling or buying a rare mutation, for some, is a part of that.

It is okay not to like the mutations or straight-up avoid them, even if they're just pixels. But it feels discourteous to claim that WD is glorifying real-life mutations and downplaying the struggles those mutations cause, as there is no evidence of that.
