Worlds unknown lie beyond her; only an ita's wild imagination could dream of what mysteries or monsters they may hold. ↱ NORTHERN PACKSDamar — Castien has taken his place as sachem, and his reliable nature makes him an excellent fit for continuing Daucus's legacy of revolution. Damar has long since abolished the barbaric practice of killing firstborns. Castien has taken that a step further and moved the pack to a safe location far from the dark spirits wandering the tundra and forbade pia from entering the Maw of Monsters at all, breaking a godless tradition followed for one hundred years. Instead, they must follow the Salt Pools ritual with coming-of-age mogue as Damar once had in moons long forgotten, and the Old Gods seem pleased with Damar's return to their embrace.Hrokkan — Hrokkan's numbers have dwindled - some wonder if the ever-elusive coastal wolves have something to do with it, with more fearing the worst: extinction. The last Hrokkan wolf to meet Daucus had done so nearly five years ago, and he had appeared thin and exhausted when confronted within Damar borders. He avoided answering prying questions from Daucus's patrol, and gracefully accepted an escort back to the mountains. Now, patrols along Gidhin's Spine report only silence, a far cry from the numerous voices that used to sing beyond the mountains. Bryne — These swamp-faring wolves seem to be the luckiest of all: Bhazec has dutifully protected the marshes from all intrusion, and this matriarchy pack has flourished as a result. With numerous mouths to feed, they have extended their borders farther southeast, and taken some peculiar influences from the still-unknown Balantgal tribes. The eskiyir have been seen taking a liking to feather and flower headdresses: the meanings of which are still not clear, but it's certainly amusing to the rather modest Damar wolves. Iomira Cults — 6 subdivisions — Very little is known about Iomira's fervent followers, but rumors of pup-stealing and wolf sacrifice tend to circle this infamous sect of the Balantgalian religion. Balantgal Tribes — Mors, Silk Den, Velssad, Iheiqualin, Greymont, Tsakhir, Slough Valley — ↱ COASTAL PACKSCoastal wolves are rumored to have intermingled with Hrokkan, but the Hrokkan are tight-lipped about their discoveries and have yet to name the elusive groups - what are they hiding?Irontooth Pack — Pelican Gulf Pack — Ashpoint Pack — Seal Bay Pack — ↱ NORTHEASTERN PACKSOdura Pack — This vagrant band of plains-faring wolves holds no territory, though they do tend to remain in the southeast, far too accustomed to the lifestyle and hunting techniques of the northeastern prairie to move too far. Nonetheless, offshoots of the main pack have traveled as far as Bryne, with the two making an unlikely alliance after the Odura chased a group of Iomira cultists from the swamps. They believe the wind is a goddess, a noncorporeal being that they embrace by following their nomadic lifestyle. They have a rather straightforward response to those that question their ways: "We follow the wild wind as the swift golden eagle follows the nimble jackalope." After receiving only quizzical head tilts and unsure nodding, the Odura commonly follow up with: "It's because one is always out of reach in an eternal chase. Are you wheat-brained?"Gri Coast Pack — The wolves of Gri Coast are an ancient group, with careful breeding that has led to all of them being pale in color with unnatural indigo eyes. However, none are as large or as menacing as "Riath" - the notorious ruler of Gri Coast said to be as large and white as a polar bear and just as barbaric. His followers are equally cruel. They are in an eternal war over the prairie with the nomadic Odura Pack, and no Odura wolf in her right mind would do anything but growl at the very mention of Gri Coast. Vreuqone Pack — Dissidents fled from the Gri Coast Pack two years ago and claimed a humble territory under a peaceful she-wolf called Vreuqa, who is said to rule gently and trade with Irehal and Faljour. Faljour Pack — An obscure pack mentioned by the nomadic Odura wolves. According to them, they have a strict diet and religion surrounding seals. Irehal Pack — A matriarchy consisting of only the most elegant and alluring female wolves. According to Odura hearsay, a mature she-wolf will entice a Gri Coast male through dark ceremonial rituals before sacrificing him... and... wearing him as a coat? Surely that couldn't be true. The self-absorbed young Odura male that spun that story did seem to have a bitter glint in his eye, so perhaps he was merely a lover scorned. Fallguard and Loewel Packs — Only one wolf has ever reached Hrokkan from this peculiar conjoined tribe. According to them, a famine 20 years ago led to an ever-lasting peace treaty, and the two work as one pack. Kor'ast Pack — Rumors of a powerful pack that controls the easternmost landbridge of Enale has reached western ears, but little else is known. |
