Are The Slots Worth It? A Guide

When I first join this game, I wanted to know if the slots were worth it. I found a guide, (only actually only after I've done most of it already lol) but it was two years old, and game mechanics and prices can change a lot in two years, so I still thought it was worth continuing. Here is the link to the original guide. In WD, the size of the prize does not necessarily predict how much the prize is worth. For example, in the small prizes, two options are to win 20 SC or a 2-use healing salve, currently worth around 175 SC on the TC. That healing salve is also worth more than the toy bundle or 100 SC in the medium prizes. So the price differences between the prizes are significant. When talking about real life slots, return to player (RTP) is used to calculate how much a player would get back from a slot, over hundreds and thousands of spins. For example, if a slot's RTP is 96%, that means, on average, that for every pound a player puts in, they would get 96p back. That's on average, so it doesn't mean that if you did one spin you would get 96p. You would have to play a lot of spins to see that. Note that the RTP is less than 100%, so that means that the casino or site always profits. Don't gamble, it's out to get you. So I wanted to find out the RTP of the WD slots. Since it mostly gave me items, I recorded what I got for 100 x 5 spins, 500 spins in total. This is nowhere near enough for the RTP to be entirely accurate, so please take this with a pinch of salt. I then looked up every item in Raccoon Wares or the TC, and wrote down the cheapest price. For the food and amusement, I calculated them as a part of a bundle rather than an individual item for a more accurate price. In total, if I sold every item that I won for the price I recorded them at, I would have made 14116 and spent 5000. The RTP was 282.32%. That means, over long term average, that for every 100 SC you put in you would get back a value of 282 SC. Remember, because I only did 500 spins, that number is not exactly accurate. That means that the slots are very worth doing, if you have the money to put in and see it play out long term. The more slots you do, the closer you will get to the RTP. This assumes each spin is statistically independent, I don't know whether it is or not (but I think they are). Although the RTP I calculated would be more accurate if I did another 500 spins, it's really really boring. If anyone else would like to add their spins, check my maths, or if you are reading this in the future when prices have changed and you want to see if the slots are still worth it, here is a link to my spreadsheet. It's not very pretty and I may tidy it up later. This is also very close to the original spreadsheet I found from two years ago, so I don't think the game mechanics have changed, only the prices. If my calculations are correct, the profit for each spin on average has gone up to approximately 18SC. Hopefully everything here makes sense and I haven't made any major mistakes in the maths. If you have any questions, please ask! |
