Hi :) I am fairly new, I have no clue what im doing lol. I have ended up with more wolves than I know what to do with. I need advice on what I should do! Do i keep them for their color or go based on stats? If anyone can help me thin it out I would appreciate it <3

Welcome to Wolvden! :) there's no one right way to play the game, and is up to you whether you keep them for the stats or the colour - personally I have some wolves with good stats and some which are very pretty (imo haha). Sorry that isn't very helpful but it is true! 😂

Hi! As Ninsun said, you can pretty much do whatever you want. But here are some things to consider:

- Stats affect wolf performance in game. Your wolves won't be able to hunt very well in certain biomes if they have low stats. You also cannot scout certain areas if your wolves do not have a stat that is high enough. I believe the Grouse House in the User-Created Guides section of the forums lists the stat numbers needed for stuff. I'm not sure but I think unless you live in a very difficult biome (Glacier, Tundra, Rainforest) the stats needed to do well at hunting are generally fairly low, and easily achievable by using low-stat wolves and leveling them up - though you will have poor hunt results for a while doing this. Using mid to high stat wolves is necessary if you want more immediate good results. (Keep in mind that wolves will still have poor performance while a hunting team is brand new - use pre-trained wolves with high role proficiency for the best instant results)

- Wolves may not sell well depending on appearance. The wolf market is oversaturated right now, so you're probably not going to make a lot selling wolves either way. But low-mark or ugly wolves will often not sell or will only sell as fodder (wolves that are chased or given to the enclave bear).

But again, you can do whatever you want. A lot of people make up lore and stories for their wolves, pick themes for their packs, or maintain specific bloodlines, to keep themselves engaged and create certain standards in what they buy and breed.
