How do you know when it's time to retire your lead, mine just went up to level 7, is it time to let her go

Lead wolves retire naturally at 8 years. 7 years 11.5 months is their last day as your lead.

Otherwise, you can retire them at any point by paying GC. And don't worry, leveling them up is a good thing.

You can find exactly how many rollovers you have left with your lead in the drop down menu at the top of the page under your username! It's on the cooldowns page :)

my lead just went to level 8 so why is it saying she can't retire without using GC I don't have any gold cones so what do I do

You have to wait until your lead dies at 8yrs old to change it for free. It's not by levels, the highest level is 20 btw

oh, ok, thanks for clearing that up, I was totally confused, feel free to check out my trade,I can't remove my current breeding male if I don't have any gold cones, I would prefer to swap him out with Darkstrike rather than have Darkiplier die
