Star screeches, charging forward toward Jack and Ami, swift even on foot, knowing her fiery body would cause harm to the guards. Jack seemed to realize this immediately though, and quickly grabbed Ami to get her out of the path of the charge, firing at Star too. Star, however, wouldn't waver until she was sure enough time had passed for her friends to get away. |

Ami yelped, feeling the birds fire singe her uniform, leaving an aching throb on her arms. But had it not been for Jack, it would've been worse. Pushing through the pain, she raised her gun and started firing. She hissed under her breath, and clenched her teeth, the throb spreading across her arm. She glanced at her arm, seeing a pretty bad burn, straight through the uniform and revealing a nasty view. She tore her gaze, her grey eyes fixing on Star with a malevolence seen in those who want revenge. She kept firing, but her left arm wasn't moving well, as if her nerves were barely alive. Brian, Adam, and Siena kept running, Brian trying to reach Star telepathically. 'Star, are you there? Hurry and catch up, the guards are closing in on you.' He tried. |

Jack would use his body to defend Ami, taking the burns even as it roasted him, letting Ami get her shots in and staying standing until he couldn't. He wasn't gonna let Ami get hurt. Star would stay defensive for a moment longer, her fire burning hot and staying moving to make it hard to hit her, though she would still be hit once or twice anyway, though not letting it stop her, before she flies upward, turns to her crow form to be harder to hit and less visible, and flies off in the wrong direction for a while, then zigzags her way to go the right direction before replying to Brian telepathically, mainly just trying to speak to him and not actually knowing if it'd work, but phoenixes are magic so yeh. 'i distracted them, I hurt them. Are you guys safe?' she asks. |

Ami fell back as Star disappeared, panting, and turned to check on Jack. "Are you okay?" She asked, raking his form for injuries. As much as he wanted to defend and protect her, she only wanted to make sure he was okay. Brian receives the telepathically message and grins, before replying. 'Good, hurry and catch up, we're fine, Adam's having a hard time breathing, but he's still going.' He said telepathically, glancing at Adam worriedly despite his bad boy exterior. 'Are you okay?' He added, as Adam was clearly struggling to breath because of his asthma, but adrenaline kept him going. Siena circles for a moment, falling back to stick with Star. |

Jack coughs a bit, pretty badly burned on his front half, sitting down now. "...n-no... C-call help..." He coughs out, cuz a Phoenix is very fiery and that was a direct hit for him, so he probably needed serious medical help, but if it was fast enough then he would be okay. Star would keep going, being fast. 'if he has a small enough form, I could go to my owl form to pick him up. But I wouldn't risk it in my phoenix form. Too bright and big and fiery.' she replied, trying to catch up to Brian and Adam. |

Ami paused, before waving for a medic who rushes over. She didn't know what to do, so she sat down, ignoring her arm as she held Jack. "Its okay.... you're going to be okay" she said, hoping to comfort him. She was worried as the medic began to treat the burns, and everything except Jack went on the backburner until later. Siena cared to Star, her wing brushing Star's gently as she glided. Brian paused, giving Adam a break and letting Star and Siena catch up. 'I don't think he does.... Siena, would you be able to carry him on your back in your horse form?' He asked. Siena came down, cawing an objection. She shifted to her human form. "Not with this type of terrain.... can you maybe lift him telepathically?" She asked, pacing as she waited. Brian swallowed. "I can try," he muttered. Adam was wheezing softly, in his human form, before being wrapped in a telepathically bubble, being lifted off the ground. Siena grinned, glancing at Star before returning to her Raven form. She flew ahead to check the path, before circling until they caught up. |

Jack would look to Ami, seeing. The burn on her arm. "...you're hurt too... You need help..." He mumbled, coughing again, but he wanted her to be okay first. Star would stay by Brian and Adam, wings flapping. 'if you put some power into making him lighter, I could probably assist and lighten the burden in my owl form. That way energy is preserved.' she telepathically said. |

Ami shakes her head, brushing the hair out of his face. "I'm fine compared to you. I promise, I'll get treated as soon as you're done. You have it worse then me." She said, watching the medic for a moment before meeting his gaze. "You're my best friend Jack, I can't lose you." She adds softly Brian tilts his head, nodding and focusing on making Adam lighter, letting him be carried by Star. "Thank you, that would be amazing." He said, before taking the lead and making his way through the woods. "This way, we can get help in the city." He says, glancing at them all. |

Jack sighs softly, looking up at her. "...just don't get hurt... Please..." He mumbles softly, gazing at her with a gentle, worried look despite the pain, or rather, lack thereof. (Why do I feel like Ami and Jack with either be besties forever or end up liking each other? XD) Star nods, shifting to her owl and gently grabbing hold of Adam's scruff to lift him up and help. Her owl form was a great horned owl, so it was bigger and therefore stronger. She would do her best and follow along as well. |
