Countless annual rings before, the land was thriving with livings and the lush green blossomed everywhere. The wolves, as well as all other cultured creatures, ruled their common home in peace. The wolves lived in sizeable packs, which included not only hunters but also the herbalists and scouters. They helped each other and raised their pups together in the great world.

However, the utopia was destined to fall even thought it had lasted long. The sand invaded, no longer being trapped by the shoal. The withering penetrated, opening its eyes on the ground like broken pustules. The green faded and its master, prey of the wolves, suddenly decreased in quantity.

The fall had come. Without enough food for the pups, the wolves struggled. The fear that was born soon grew wild and spread like a plague, triggering the wolves' urge to kill and rob in order to survive and inherit. The herbalists and scouters left or died, being unable to contest with the hunters and no one willing to share them food. The pack split up as they can not feed all in one area. The past was gone with the wind.

Winter was coming… but so was spring. All were destined to arrive. The snow fell, making it even harder to hunt. Some hunters gathered in groups and tried to hunt down larger prey, which was almost the only thing they could find. It was not long until the spring returned, but the utopia had gone forever. The groups, as small pack, divided again into families and individuals, and fought for themselves.

Until today and tomorrow.

I never expect it to be this fast…

-----Year 2 End of Spring

• Sandire encountered a lost pup at the edge of the pack territory. She adopted it. Today a strange male invades, apparently looking for something...

Sandire got no idea about how the strange pup managed to travel such long distance, but she did find this four little feet inside her territory. When she was trying to approach, the pup seemed to be intimidated, but bravely stranded its place. Normally, she should kill any stranger's pup as a pack wolf, but she wanted a pup so bad. Sandire flick her tail disdainfully, feeling lucky of this reckless bean.

Now, the pup is with her inside her cave. It's adapting well. Sandire walks to where she found the pup, seeking for any prey for it. She's now an excited new mother. But the air of this place smells strange as if some other wolf has been here. She howls to the sky, claiming this place as pistil pack territory. However, to her surprise, another strange wolf answers her howl. She jogs to their direction curiously.

Not far from where she was, a male with reed-like fur appears on her way. They do not growl but both sense a familiar scent on each other. The male, known as ReedPetal, must be the father of the lost pup. Sandire tentatively approaches and Reed Petal doesn't show sneaky.

After a brief greeting, they return together to the SilverRiver Cave. The pup is delighted to see its father again.

-----Year 2 Start of Summer

• Hurric contracts heatstroke after striving in a hunt. She dies unfortunately.
• One reckless pup of Suness was badly hurt by a metal contraption.

Sandire and ReedPetal are carrying the muskrat back den. They share no eye contact as if it is a job, not a life. They aren't getting along well. But the pup still need them, so they work together in peace. The three of them have a nice meal together and the pup has got full of eagerness and energy for the upcoming train.

While Sandire's temporary family enjoys their peace, Hurric and Suness are not going to be good. They are ambushing a beaver crossing the Silver River. Hurric knows that she must ensure her dominance in the pack, so she attacks first. She gains a small biting injury on the jaw.

Later on their way back home, Hurric leans unsteadily from side to side and vomits. She barely walks to the den and falls to the ground. Suness gets closer to her and sniffs, then he feels the extremely high temperature she has. He licks her ear trying to help, but it doesn't seem to work. The pups sense their approach and rush out of the cave only to find their mother lying weakly on the ground. They don't know which course to follow but sit by her quietly.

Suness keeps an eye on them and realizes the missing of one pup. He wanders near the den and goes into the cave, but gets no clue on the pup's whereabouts. He paces anxiously before calling for the pups to go back to the cave, leaving on a further search. He lowers his head to sniff around and catches the scent of the pup, as well as blood, not far from the den. He picks up the pace following the scent and eventually finds his pup crying depressingly with its left hind leg broken by a metal contraption. Suness struggles with the contraption for hours with every angle tried. His right canine tooth is broken, but the pup finally gets free.

He takes the pup to the den. It is at dusk, and Hurric lies lifeless in front of the cave. Her body is cold.

28/11/2023

-----Year 2 Early Summer

• Suness' injured pup recovers… with permanent disability. It's leg could never grow as normal.
• Suness meets ReedPetal for the first time.

Misfortune has struck Suness in quick succession. He feels too distracted to raise 4 pups on his own, so he decides to turn to Sandire, the single female in his pack. But to his amazement there is a new, strange male in Sandire's den, with Sandire's scent. Suness raises his tail to claim his alpha position. The male, who is slightly stronger than Suness, bows his head. They are at peace for now, but Suness fails to invite Sandire to join his family.

29/11/2023

-----Year 2 Mid Summer

• The naming ceremony begins.
• Sandire leaves the family to join Suness.

On a night of peace, the whole pack howls together. Suness can hear Sandire howling with ReedPetal and his pup. All 5 pups in the pack survive to this day and are given their names.

Daril, the largest and most pretentious son of Suness, now dominates his siblings. Slug gets his name from his disability. Mossy is the only girl born this year, inheriting the culture of Hurric. Shavo is capable, though he is a runt. And Princol, ReedPetal's pure white pup, is much older than Suness' pups.

The day after the ceremony, Sandire visits the UnderTree cave. She licks the face of Suness, who is surprised by her arrival, and joins the family of 5. She has had enough of ReedPetal's sneakiness.

-----Year 2 Deep Summer

• ReedPetal is hunting while getting robbed by 3 wolves of the eastern wolf pack.
• Fire breaks out in the northeast. ReedPetal is forced to leave the cave. On their way wandering, Princol gets attacked by coyote and dies.

• ReedPetal leaves the pack.

-----Year 3 End of Autumn

• The two yet young adult aren't able to find enough food for the pups. Slug, the disabled pup, who fails to contest with his siblings dies to hunger.
• The three surviving pups leave the pack to establish their own dynasty…
