Am I the only one who needs territory and has wolves with bad stats but are attached to them and dont want to give them away? what do I do

Hi! Absolutely, you aren't alone. New player troubles!

Your stats will grow as your wolves work, so don't worry about them right now. Keep your pack small for as long as possible, especially if you get attached easily, until you have enough to sustain growing bigger. Instead, save resources to grow your currency and focus on building up to one day be able to hold a bigger pack. Try not to make any impulsive decisions!

Territory is expensive, so it really is important to be picky when first starting out. I'd recommend only keeping enough wolves to fill a hunting party, have two scouts, and of course a herbalist and one or two pupsitters. You should only need one pupsitter, but if your pups aren't taken care of well enough, you may have to have more to ensure survival of pups you want to keep. Keeping a minimal pack is not only easily manageable, but it'll help build up an excess of resources, which you can then sell on the TC for easy SC and GC. If you must get a new wolf, make it a habit to only keep it if you can replace another wolf you don't like as much with it, so it isn't there just taking up space, very valuable for a player with not as much space.

Here, I highly recommend you check out the Grouse House guides! The linked thread has every guide the Grouse House has made on every aspect of the game, though may be a little outdated for newer features. It is very easy to navigate and isn't too much of an excessive read! That is, unless you prefer to play blind and learn yourself no shame in that!

You're so very welcome! I'd recommend removing the wolves older than 3yrs from your hunters, and replace them with 1yr olds, or a wolf that has already worked to make up for age. You don't have to replace the younger ones until you want to or are ready to do that.

I also noticed you have two additional hunters, but you can just remove a couple of the older ones!

If you want, I can let you have a few high stat wolves to replace them with? I have chasers and stalkers, and I do believe I can give you a finisher. Just let me know, and I'd recommend you a list of wolves! No charge for 'em :]

Sure thing! I'm going to organize a little list below for any 5 wolves you want to pick, if you wish to replace all you hunters! Ignore the prices on 'em. For you, I'll gift 'em to ya! Some may not look super pretty, but stats make up for it, and you can always customize later. Those who say [x amount of stats]+ have been trained to add an additional 63, but I am saying the stats they are born with so I don't have to math. :]

Absolutely! I'll be only recommending wolves under age 3, but there may be an older one I'd suggest that HAS worked in a role before and shows that through stats in the Other section.

Stalkers

Chasers

  • Jeah: starting stats: 513, favoring Spd and Agi, and would make a great high stat chaser. 600+ currently. Con: almost 3yr

  • Irki: starts with 513 stats, currently over 600 mark. Con: almost 3yr.

  • Army: 600+ currently, over 500 starting stats. Con: almost 3yr.

  • Beryl: a yearling with 500+ starting stats.

  • Izarsmoke: yearling with 495+ starting stats.

  • Bonzar: 488+ stat start.

  • Timeade: 488+ start.

  • Caelum: although it doesn't look like it, she actually started out with very high stats for an NBW at a grand 280 at 1yrs old! No NBW gets higher than 290 (ignoring personality boost), and as a hunter, she'll make nearly 1k if not more stats by old age. She is 2yrs, but for most of her first year she was one of my own hunters until I replaced her, so for the most part she is caught up on stats.

Finishers

  • I actually don't have any young wolves for this currently. I have a few decent options in the latter section, but there should be plenty good Finishers on TC if you want to replace yours,

Other (Misfits, some may not have as high stats, or are older than 3yr)

  • Lowa: she has a snippet of lore in her bio, but I don't mind letting her go if you want her. She doesn't have the best looks, but she is a yearling still with good Chaser stats. She also has good Stalker stats, so she goes either way! She was born with 380 starter stats, and has for a little while been a hunter as a Chaser, with Stalker prof from when she was an adol. I have just switched her to pupsitter out of her hunter role, so you'll have to wait on that CD to use her.

  • Talia and Kira: sisters trained for Finisher, but can also play a Stalker role. If you want one of these two, please only choose one, as I wish to keep the other for lore reasons :D

  • Talon: trained as a Chaser, he is a great option, and has plentiful marks!

  • Heron although certainly older, I'm recommending her only because she'll reach maybe 1.2k stats by the time she is level 20, assuming you hunt her frequently to make up for lost time.

  • Flower: 385+ start, older at nearly 3yr. Best for a Stalker!
