Stat gain when aging pup into lead

I can't seem to find an answer to this question, so I figured I'd ask here in case anyone has done this before or knows the answer.

My lead is retiring in a few days, and I've chosen one of his most recent pups to be my next lead. However, he retires in a few days and this pup will only be 6 months at the time - although that is enough for me to get in pup training! Because he's a high stat boy, I want to make sure that this pup gets his pup training boosts when he ages.

My question is this: if I allow my lead to naturally retire and choose a pup that ends up being aged up into my lead, will he still get the stat boosts from pup training?

Yes, the pup will receive any stat boosts he earned from training. But of course, going straight from 6m to 1yr means he will not earn anything from an apprenticeship that he would have had if he were allowed to grow up naturally.

Perfect! That's what I was hoping to hear. Now to decide if I want to go that route or use a temp leader while the pup goes through adol training.
