Allow All Males to Breed within the Pack

To me, the devaluing of males seems to be a problem that's already rearing its head and the game has been open for less than a month. I think it would be a good way to add value to literally 50% of the existing wolves, while still giving the option to expand bloodlines more readily. You could engage the sterility at any point, so if you wanted to experiment with a male and see if he would produce any babies worth keeping, or for the sake of lore wanted him to produce a litter or two, you still could before cutting him off and having him be a superior pack member.

@Vague, aaaah that makes sense. So basically we both had a similar little thought process about game and lore, both inspired by the other 😂

@Bruja, that's certainly not a suggestion I've seen here before!! I kinda like that a lot, actually, so even males players don't want to breed could be useful...

Support although my reasons are a bit peculiar. My breeding male is black and white and literally every single female wolf I come across is either in shades of browns or in shades of reds with the rare black... having multiple males would really help me out and it would broaden my gene pool as well. I personally don't care about inbreeding, I care about stats and making strong pretty wolves but there's no way I can achieve any of that let alone make any decent looking wolves with just one male for the entire pack for dozens and dozens of rollovers. I legitimately spent the entire day looking around in the trading center and only found one pup that suited some of my wants and it was just because she was female.

Males being able to breed in pack would be awesome.  A cool down would be okay as long as they didn't start with a wait period that would make it hard to line them up with the female you want.  Though really, it would hurt nothing to just allow them freedom in pack.  I would be a LOT more likely to customise a second male if I knew I could breed him enough to get at least one nice puppy.  Getting us to spend Gold is not a bad thing for the devs.

I support this!  To not completely trash the system, we could still have the designated breeding male able to stud publicly, and limit other male wolves to breeding within the pack, or breeding sparingly like female wolves.

I honestly think the game would be more fun if most male wolves weren’t genetic dead ends.

I think a certain amount of allowed breedings per week or month (similar to the 15 a week stud slots, but fewer than that) would be a better restriction than a cooldown, just because lining up both a male's cooldown and a female's would be frustrating.

Agreed.  Cooldowns would work but would be far from ideal.  I think freedom would be fine, but 3-5 slots a week would be fine too.  In a small pack that would essentially be freedom.  In a larger one you'd have to think more about which females to pair with which male.  I suppose slots would discourage trade breeding a little.

The cooldown lining up frustration wouldn't be an issue if the male didn't have heats and remained 'ready to breed' whenever once his was up - which would be closer to real life accuracy!

Pretty sure there is nothing realistic about the males having a cooldown at all.  Limits are only for the devs to try and shape the game the way they want it to be.

Well, no, cooldowns wouldn't be, but the lack of heat-limiting would.
