Allow All Males to Breed within the Pack

Posted 2020-12-04 09:12:26 (edited)

Yes, 100% support. My best hunters are male and I can't carry over their lineage towards future hunters. It's such a shame that they're basically just here to take up space and look pretty as it currently is.

Edit- Well, now after the latest policy update I guess this thread is against the rules because people keep mentioning other games as a way to explain their opinions. I support the idea, but I'm scared the thread will get deleted now. =(

It would be so useful. I usually chase males that are born in my pack because they're not as useful as females. Even if they have pretty markings I don't have enough money to buy sex changers for them. My current breeding male is pretty bland and doesn't make nice pups yet I can't afford the costs of studs or retiring him. I support fully because of my those reasons above

(I right comments like a essay at my old high school I swear)

Lunar said it perfect! I am in full support of some sort of extra male breeding. Please please pleaseeeeee. I just want some of my male hunters to have babies with their pupsitter wives even just once.

....You could even do something like that. None stud males can only be bred once. It keeps the pool from being saturated but allows a bit of freedom within your gameplay and males that hadn't been bred could fetch a larger sc value in the market.

I support this. As a very new player I’ve already run into this brick wall.

I just traded for a high stat hunter with colors & markings I liked. He’s helping train the other hunters right now, but I planned to breed him also. I didn’t know it was never a possibility  because he’d been a breeding male. One time, producing only 2 pups.
For all practical purposes he’d been neutered before ever joining Runa’s pack.

Why would that one time role follow him across the entire platform?

As an alternative, Beta breedings would work, since they do give a RL wolf a chance to strengthen their new pack without challenging the Alpha pair’s dominance or bloodline.

Bizarrely enough if I can scrape up enough funds Woad can magickally make him female, immortal, or both. If I’m really lucky she can craft a cure to reverse his vasectomy instead. /s

You actually can't make him female. Sex changers can only be used on wolves who have not bred.

Thanks for telling me that finnfinite. I didn't know, I just saw it mentioned in an earlier post. :)

I indeed Support (where the fleabags is a button to click instead? lol)

i can already see how worthless males are compared to females which sucks despite having more uses than sub males on Lioden. Even while testing i felt this way but i kept my mouth shut at the time since i doubt the staff wanted to hear that while making it. ^ ^;

Fully reading this and one can easily see what's covered.

I wouldn't mind a cooldown for a certain amount of time at all or having to pay a fair enough fee, Just to allow my other fave boys to have a chance at pups with a lady. I currently have 2 who are in a way, a pair themselves but having Bur as my main breeder gets in the way. I was only able to let them have pups due to the next gen tutorial i had been holding off til i felt ready to play it but that was it. It felt ....perfect to be able to do that, to use another like that. To be able to let them have that chance was amazing. A cooldown and/or price would make it so worth it TwT

Please staff members, let this be even more enjoyable Let the younger sibling Learn from the older's mistakes on Feature level as well. Let males be More equal to the ladies. QwQ

again I SUPPORT THIS!!!!!!

Support!

Don't have much more to add as it's all already been said, but I do feel the current breeding system is too restrictive and the proposed changes above seem perfectly reasonable to me.

Hell, even giving males a limited number of coverings (ie 3, like they currently do on Howrse for donkeys) would keep from saturating the market while also permitting players to coordinate the pairings they want and work on multiple breeding projects. Plus males would have more value being traded if they have multiple coverings left.

Staff, please consider changing the breeding male system!

Don't like the idea of males having a limited amount of times they can breed (unless it's just cooldown-imposed like the female). It's unrealistic to a silly degree, and it's unnecessarily limiting to the point where it doesn't do much to solve the value divide. I still won't want a male in my pack if he can only breed three times and then he's useless again, I'll use him up and then chase him, not much difference. IMO the point of breeding multiple males should be to stop encouraging harem packs, because again that's lions, not wolves.
