Allow All Males to Breed within the Pack

Just want to add that I'd like to be able to do breeding projects to produce wolves that look a certain way, but it's not really feasible without frequently changing your breeding male, which is obviously heavily discouraged. It's ultimately a breeding game, and that's kinda the point of those, right? xD

@viverrinae I've been tracking the thread for a while and haven't noticed any mod input. I do wonder what they think of this, or if they think it's a vocal minority. It's hard to tell what percentage of the actual player base supports such an idea, though it's worth noting that the dissenting opinions in this thread have pretty much all been "I agree, but I think it should be done differently" like the mated pairs idea. I can't recall seeing anyone here who prefers the current system.

After 51 pages tho I feel like even some input would be nice. Maybe just a "yeah we are thinking about this" or even a definitive "yeah this isn't happening" 

The mods pretty much don't give input on these threads. The threads here for player interaction and support, but they say in the rules thread that popularity does NOT mean they'll implement it. We can hope they see how many varied voices are here and consider the idea, but the site is not a democracy.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect mod input. xD It would just be nice for this issue in particular, with player support being so particularly numerous and unanimous. I'm burningly curious if their stance leans more toward "well people are playing the game anyway, so there's no need to appeal to nitpickers" or "it's concerning that so many players find the core gameplay to have such a big flaw, we should consider how we can fix it." Especially since the game is freshly out of early access and, unlike most cases of players asking for overhauls, actually in a position to make it happen.

Hopefully we'll find out soon! It's definitely one of the most player-vocal threads here, so hopefully they address it sooner rather than later.

It would be nice to know if it’s a possibility for the future or if it’s never going to happen. I’ve been keeping a few males in hopes this will change. But have sex changed a couple recently due to them being practically useless 

If the devs do approve this idea, it will still likely take several months for them to actually implement it. It would require a pretty heavy coding overhaul, and I bet the coders are busy working on other new features for events and whatnot. So it’s probably not worth holding onto males in the hopes that you’ll be able to breed them in their lifetime... they will likely be dead before this is implemented.

To be fair it's fully possible this has already been in the works for a while, and they simply didn't have time to fully implement it before launch. It's true that it would require a lot of coding, but this has been a consistent thing folk have been vocal about since at least the beta. The devs have also said they DON'T want wolvden to be a lioden clone, so it's possible something has been planned since the beginning.

^That's wishful thinking. Why would they launch a game with harem breeding if they intended to make a game with intrapack breeding?
