Allow All Males to Breed within the Pack

While I'm glad we finally HAVE something it's annoying that it's limited/strict I'm just hoping this is nothing more than a trial run and over time we'll get a bigger cap/remove cap all together but I'm really hoping it isn't leading to a paywall |

@finnfinite i understand that! however, i play quite a few games and the devs on this site are the only ones that don't keep the player base updated in some capacity. even if behind the scenes, the "updates" they are giving us still happened weeks in the past, at least we are still given ample time to prepare, whereas here, there's literally no update process whatsoever, besides the actual implementation of the change. im not sure im allowed to say the name of the game, but one of the games i've played since childhood is a reputable, well-established horse game (probably the most popular) and they give consistent in-progress updates on their socials, so the fact that it can work for them means that if the devs got the player base used to having gradual updates, the expectation for immediate gratification would probably die out. this is the only game i play where major game-play altering changes are dropped on players with quite literally 0 warning signs haha ^^' i just know from experience and from having some very "gamer" friends on both mainstream and obscure games that this is a very unusual way to do it, and for good reason! if they gave updates about this process as they were doing it, they would know how people feel about it and therefore would be prepared for people's reactions. instead, like here and on Lioden, they drop bombs and sometimes get serious backlash for it. it's just kind of strange to me ^^ not saying that to offend however you run your game, i just know that the alternative is possible and quite common ^^' (if i find out i can say the name of the game i mentioned then i will edit this haha) |

Once again, THANK YOU DEVS. <3 With regards to letting the players know ahead of time, there would still be people who sex changed a male before the warning and weren't happy about the "wasted" GC. It would be nice, but I don't think it matters much? xD Aside from feedback reasons. v Yeah, more communication is always nice. ^^ |

@Mossfoot i know it's made a big difference since the game i mentioned started doing it, and i've found it actually connects the devs and the players more than when they don't give progress updates. so many players hypothesize about money-grabbing and paywalls and things like that, but if the devs were just more transparent, there would be a much stronger trust and understanding between them and the players, which is always nice! ^^ regardless, to go back on topic, still support just letting all males breed with cooldowns haha! hoping this is just a test period! or at least, since they've already done this coding, decreasing all of these weird restrictions lol |

@sneep So what you're doing right now is explicitly what the devs DO NOT want done. Name-dropping other sites is frowned on, but the secondary part of that is that they DO NOT want to be compared to other games, and do not want features/design decisions from other games offered to wolvden. Again, as a game developer - we see this constantly. On the player side, it's VERY common for people to say "I want X feature from Y game in this game". And oftentimes, you think it's a simple change and it shouldn't affect much. But on the developer side? Those requests are utter nightmares to even contemplate. Games have completely different frameworks both in code and in how the development teams are set up, and there's no copy+paste. Often requested features directly clash with what's already in the pipeline, and even if they WERE possible to implement it might take so much dev time it's not really worth it. Because of this, a lot of development teams will outright reject "make your feature like Y game's!" just because they don't want to deal with the inevitable headaches. "I want the devs to be more communicative" - ok "I want the devs to have communication more like this game I can't name" - not ok The sort of constant updating you're referring to CAN work well. However, it requires both a very specific type of programming setup that can handle the more rigid expectations, and a bigger and more front-focused mod team. Neither of which wolvden has. I'm not saying this to be mean and I hope this doesn't come across as me tearing you down, but I promise you things are a lot more complicated on the backside and things from other games will not and sometimes CANNOT apply without destroying everything and remaking from the ground up. |

Sadly, there Will be comparisons as many see good things and can still wish. I know this rule and follow it yet i still can yearn Lioden and Wolvden just have a talent for being an easy target for something that is obvious to many in a way. The more they make these kinda mistakes instead of doing it right and have to add it in later or fix it the more people will do it. I know you can't please everyone and that's fine but at least try to see all sides and fully think things through as well as have some people ask the right questions to help them think through things better and resolve them before it becomes a problem. WD/LD are already their own games and unique as they are, still have they're flaws esp when it comes to some forms of communications and some features they should've or shouldn't have done. I always find myself coming back to their games instead of another's. One game before wolvden, we all know which one...I was always comparing it to LD and how it wasn't even close to good. Even WD as rn is far better even though i never once said my opinion out loud or in forums. We all have opinions and that'll never change but we can at least try to change our wording for sure and the staff can work on doing things a bit better for communication and making features to improve an already wonderful game that was recently born. I do recall as a tester how they wanted to focus on base elements of the game and then add in things later and there were some things i didn't like but didn't speak up cuz i was afraid of something that happened to me before so memories of that didn't help me there. But i did want to give it a chance only now to realize that i should've spoke up and that the idea wasn't gonna last long once i was able to play without worry of a reset. ^ ^; There Still is time for new changes and features to be added but still no harm in suggesting it to make our voices heard. That much is certain. Wolvden is young and still new so give it some time is all i can say for now. Our wonderful Devs can't build a bridge in a day after all <3 |

Yay! I love the new feature. Rye/Magpie might be able to have a cute next lead after all! 🤧 I was going to use a pup from the breeding male but this is so much better for me |

If anything I sort of hope that there are tweaks down the line so that it's less restrictive. For a game with no collar decors it sure feels like a lot of our choices regarding our wolves is leashed in some way, and it's beginning to bother me. I'm still not really happy with how two of my wolves are stuck bonded and aren't unbonded after the tutorial like Tala does with similar tutorials. I'm hoping that'll get changed or fixed. |
