Allow All Males to Breed within the Pack

Oh, that's fair, I thought you were talking about the pairing system as a whole. ^^ Yeah, undoing it at the end is what I would expect too, since that's how the breeding male quest was.

I do agree it should work the same as the other quests. I guess they didn't bother because it's not so close to the game's release at this point?

It is a reasonable expectation I feel that a player would have what they need to complete the quest at the point it is given, but not all players will align with that expectation for many reasons. Playstyles and progress will vary wildly.

It's a good first step but I highly disagree on two pair breedings a month, that is too restrictive even for a small pack let alone a big one.
Limiting it to pairs only and a 30 day cooldown on the male was already a good limit, only two a month does practically nothing for the argument that non-breeding males are worthless and the forced harem playstyle.

If approximately 50% of your wolves were male (how I would want to play,) 2 breedings a month doesn't even give you a chance to breed everyone in the later half of their life before they die to maximize stats if have wolves similar in age or a larger pack.

I keep a minimal pack (A lead, 2 scouts, 10 hunters, 1 herbalist, and 1 pup-sitter.)
Doing 7 breedings for each pair would take 4 real months, or 5 Wolvden years. Wolves live 7-8 years so I would have had to start breeding them when they are two or start my pack over with pairs staggered by age if I want to play like this and not Lioden: North America Edition.
(1 IRL day = 1/2 a wolf-month. 1 IRL month = ~1 year 3 months, 2 breedings a month for 7 pairs = 4 IRL months or 4 years 12 months)

I'm glad they are  s o r t a  listening but completely underwhelmed and disappointed by their decision to limit it so aggressively.

It's not two breedings a month, it's two pairs being set a month. Every pair can breed every month.

So the first month, you have two pairs and two litters. Second month, four pairs four litters. Etc. Most packs are naturally staggered in age due to NBWs having a four year span and pups being born to replace older wolves.

I don't think that's how it works. I have a pair bond right now, and the counter at the top still says 0/2 Pair Bond Breedings this month. You can set 20 pair bonds in a single rollover and still only breed 2 of those pairs every month.

Edit: Also yeah, agreeing with what Owlbear said too. (And a lot of the reservations other players are bringing up as well.) It feels like 1 step forward, 2 steps back, almost? I appreciate that they did it at all, but in my opinion, it needs some reworks already. It's like giving us a taste of the greatness it could become, without actually giving us that greatness. (And I really hope that greatness doesn't become available from paying, because that... would not be good.) I'm hoping it'll get some changes in the next month or two, we'll see.

That's definitely not how it works. It specifically refers to it as Pair Bond Breedings. You can set as many pair bonds as you want. It's only when you breed them that it counts to the tally.

...nevermind that's absolutely stupid and I'm firmly against it, I misunderstood Tala

Yeeeah, if it worked the way you thought, that'd be much more preferable honestly.
