Let Us Scry Regardless of Age! (maybe gender too?)

Support - it would be nice to test for carriers but I also would love to do this to scry pups with future mates/studs. |

I don't understand why there is even a fee for that sort of thing, especially since the pups previewed are not even guaranteed. Earning SC is hard enough in this. |

In response to seddy i can understand why, it’s because the way they have the scry hooked up to prevent lag or something problematic I suppose I am not that understanding of Tec or codes yet but there is a reason but I wouldn’t mind it being slightly decreased to 5-10 to make it easier on us players since sc is harsher then LD |

I definitely support this! Especially for mutie breeding and stuff. It's a bit of a burden to have to wait til a pup is an adult in order to try and scry them. You'd have to hold on to the pup that entire time, raising it and spending the food and amusement on it to only find out that everything you invested was for naught once it reaches adulthood. Personally I don't think it needs to be right away. It could be once they become an adolescent. |

I wrote in here before, but another pro for being able to scry pups immediately would be that it'll likely have a positive effect on overpopulation. Right now we have to wait until adulthood -- but if I know I won't be keeping a puppy after scrying, I'll just chase them immediately instead of keeping them for nearly a month, raising them and spending a LOT of resources on them. TLDR; being able to scry puppies will likely make us more inclined to chase them immediately instead of waiting 'til adulthood and trying to sell them then, thus keeping them in the game. |

I would love to be able to scry regardless of age and gender! Especially since ATM I am trying to find out which of my puppies are carriers and I won't have space for them all to be adults at the same time. If they aren't carriers I am chasing them, so ATM I am investing resources into potentially bum wolves haha HOWEVER this far I have assumed it may be to do with HOW the wolves are coded? I'm assuming that the scry page runs specific checks before it scries the puppies, but maybe there's a behind-the-scenes thing that specifically happens WHEN they become adults that means they literally can't be scries before because that data hasn't been generated yet? So it may not be an easy fix if that's the case! But I think it would absolutely be worth it, especially as a money sink |

Full support, though I think I can understand why the game doesn't currently let you - and I don't think it has anything to do with the staff gating us/not wanting us to scry the puppies. I believe on the same thread they explained the scry cost, they stated that the way scrying currently works is actually the breeding system minus one step and incurring a cooldown. i.e., the game goes through every step of the breeding process minus actually generating any 'physical' puppies for you to have. As such, since the breeding system doesn't allow you to breed pups, adolescents, or same-sex pairs, the scry system won't. "The Scrying Stone uses the breeding script in order to generate potential litter outcomes. It goes through nearly the entire breeding process... it just doesn't actually create a pup." So they might have to do a lot of tweaking and possibly an entire recode in order to allow us to scry puppies, adolescents, and same-sex pairs and it might take some time before this is available should they decide to do it. |

Supporting this, as personally I'd love to be capable of checking whether a pup is worth keeping and investing in a sex changer for future breeding. Sadly the fact is I get plenty of males I like, but never can tell whether it'd be worth it at all to even keep them for breeding since I can't scry with them to a stud I like or my own stud. |
