We have breeding males, why not breeding females? This female would be up for breeding during her heat, and the puppies (once weaned) would automatically go to the father's pack. Other functionality would optimally also include: - Breeding with any non-stud males within a pack just as the stud male can breed with any female within a pack. - People breeding to her should also be able to breed her to more than just their own stud and be able to choose any non-stud to pair her with (just as someone can choose any female to pair with a male stud when buying a breeding) |

I half-support, I guess? I really like what you're going for here, in re: making males and females more equivalent (wolves don't have much sex dimorphism!), but I think that this would be kind of tricky for the mods to implement. I think players would get confused (and maybe somewhat frustrated) with the whole "males can all breed but ONLY to breeding females, females can all breed but ONLY to breeding males." I think a lot of new players would be like "but these wolves can clearly both breed, why can't they breed to each other???" |

This is true, and many (myself included) would rather have both sexes be able to breed equally within a pack with equal cooldowns for both. But I think this might be more appealing to the devs, since they seem to be really in love with restricted breeding systems. |

I feel like they might already be implementing this in a similar form to LD. I don't know if I agree with being able to choose any stud male for a studded female (I feel like if it was really wanted, this could be achieved by working out a deal with the owner of said male where you pay the lady's fee and they stud their male to her for you) but I agree with having sellable heats. |

I figured letting any male breed with a stud female would equal her out with stud males, since they can breed with any female (both when you breed within a pack and other's packs when they buy a breeding) |

Wait, did you mean any male within the pack or literally any breeding male up for stud in the game? I might have misunderstood, I thought you meant the latter. It would equal out some ig, but idk if it needs to be exactly equivalent? Though..... This might be an interesting way to solve "the breeding male problem" other people have been discussing. You can breed to others' females via non breeding males, but those males can't be studded or breed within your pack.... Kinda works with the realism as well.... |

I don't think I agree with the "Pups automatically go to the father's pack" because well, it's ultimately far more complicated for the female. Even if you equalize breeding cooldowns, the female still has to go through pregnancy, birth and weaning so realistically, the male getting the puppies in the end doesn't feel right. I get that's the point of studding her but that all doesn't really line up to me in a way that feels right. I think I'll have to pass. |

@red Just like how a stud male can breed with any female, a stud female could breed with any male. (And stud males/female could of course breed with one another). So think how the male stud currently works, and swap the sexes (with the only big difference being that you could only buy a breeding from a stud female during her heat, and the puppies would get transferred to you automatically when they wean). I think maybe stud females could either come into heat more often and have fewer penalties when pregnant, maybe even her puppies have a guaranteed survival %. To make her a better breeder than the average female, and so you can get the most out if your best girl. |

Hmmm I def have mixed feelings about the lower cooldown for stud ladies. I like it in theory but I wonder if it makes sense? It does kinda suck that say, on LD you can have a stud female but if she's something special like a hybrid you have to really decide if you want to sell her precious few heats or keep them... It kinda sucks, but I also get why it works the way it works. So maybe, bc of hormones or something, and/or because the pups immediately leave the pack after wearing and the mom isn't taking care of them anymore, maybe the stud lady could go into heat like 5 or 10 days after weaning? So it's not no cooldown at all but they could be bred a little more often? |

That also works I think. |
