White/blacktail bucks not generating?
Posted 2024-02-14 23:19:29 #1155719 Maybe it's silly of me to even post about this, but I'm kind of at a loss and beginning to get really frustrated. I've been stuck on this event quest for days and have only found one of the enemies I'm supposed to defeat this entire time. 1/4 whitetail bucks, blacktailed bucks or muskox defeated. I tried looking up the best biomes, I've been rotating the Grasslands, Deciduous Forest, Riparian Woodland, and Mountains, and having no luck. I don't think I can get to the muskox yet. I have friends who have already done this quest and they didn't have nearly as difficult of a time as I'm having. It's like activating this quest artificially cuts down these specific encounters for some baffling reason, and I have the worst luck of all. Am I missing something? I had the same issue. It took me 3 days to finish that part of the event quest. I talked to others who had the same issue. And I have all the biomes unlocked.

Don't worry, I don't think it's silly at all to be feeling that way as I've also been experiencing the same frustration and issue!

I'm also comforted to know that this isn't an issue solely specific to me like I thought to be

It's been about 2 or 3? days of me being stuck on this quest. I finally managed to reach 3/4 today

by finally finding a whitetail buck in the deciduous forest. The first two I defeated were 2 muskox in the glacier. I'm very annoyed that the RNG for these specific enemy encounters doesn't seem to be the best since it prevents me from doing the matchmaking which is my favorite part of this event.

To OP and anyone else facing this issue, I hope RNG becomes kind to you quickly so you can encounter the enemies needed and complete this unnecessarily bothersome quest

I held out in the glacier for the muskox

I DID IT!!!! I cheered out loud, lol!! I unlocked the tundra and managed to defeat a muskox herd (it was very close, how stressful!)

This was an incredibly bad quest, and I strongly dislike this part of the event. Now I can get back to the good stuff... Thanks for making me feel better, and giving me the motivation to stay patient! I'm glad you both got to finish your quests too, and I hope anyone else struggling with this succeeds soon.
