Please add a way for us to ping other users in forums. This would enable conversation without people needing to subscribe as well as making it so much easier for artists to keep their com. information all in one thread rather than PMing to ask questions or just to say they've been accepted. It would just make the forums more efficient. |

I partially support. I think one problem could be getting excessively pinged such as every time you were outbid in an auction (if the seller thought it was helpful to let everyone that ever placed a bid on the thing know each time) or even accidental pings could be a bit bothersome. My suggestion would be: only pings are allowed if you're friends with the user. This way you could still have some control, and you'd simply need to befriend the user first then they can ping you? Maybe in the post replies a "ping" button could be added but the drop down only shows your friends list. |

I would love this - it's one of my top wishes for the site. I want to get outbid pings for auctions instead of just having to constantly check on auction threads, or even worse, subscribe to them and get notifications for anyone bidding on any wolf out of 20. And I really want to find players who breed wolves I like and ask them to ping me for future wolf sales, instead of having to try to keep track of which threads I want to check again next week. The "only if you're friends" option also works - that way I could friend the auction people if I wanted outbid pings, and not friend them if I didn't. Even better, have an option for enabled/disabled/friend-only pings. But I'd be perfectly happy with just having pings at all, and then if there turns out to be a too-many-pings problem we can figure out how to fix it. |

So, pardon for me stepping back in, feykros you do indeed have a point, however that would ruin the point I'm getting at. We need pings to know if someone other than a friend needs us as-well, because friends can also DM you if they need something. I like both Nika and Lesbirds's ideas of being able to either only take pings from friends if you so chose or be able to not get pings from a topic. |

I absolutely support this. Half of the time I am scrolling through pages of responses on threads, and it would be such a relief to just get sent straight to the post that I was mentioned in. Much support! |

Yeah, after seeing others suggestions of having the option to mute pings it would make it all good for me. I'd be fine if that option was implemented alongside adding the pinging system. I guess I'm just more than happy to watch subscribed topics instead of having an extra notification system on top? My mind just imagined if I was the starting bidder on a wolf, and I'd get pinged for every bid above me even though it was out of my price range after 2 more bids, for example. And then I'd have to either comment or PM the user that I don't wish to be pinged anymore, rather than simply unsubscribing from the topic once it was out of my price range. |

Would love for this to be added. I have had several threads that have replied to me, and short of me seeing that the thread has a new message, I am not notified, and have missed things due to it. Pinging would be helpful! I think the idea of being able to mute a thread that has excessive pinging, or even just being able to soft mute a user to prevent pings from them, would be helpful too! |

I'd love for this to be implemented. I entered a couple raffles and I wish I could just say "ping me when the drawing is done" rather than having to subscribe and get a notification for every single person also entering the raffle and the person running it confirming their entry or unsubscribe and risk not ever knowing when the raffle drawing was done/who won. |

Massive support. Having a ping system in place would make so many things around site much easier. How about a setting so that you can decide who can ping you? No pings, friendly pings only, open to pings -- or a similar system. |
