Support and no support button

No support: I agree with coal, plus even if the discussion has priority over the majority vote, then I don't see what the point of the buttons would be x'D I think it's understandable in concept, but I think they'd either become useless or a problem |

Oh, whoops, I've done that too! I support this suggestion because sometimes everything you want to say about a suggestion has already been said! And if you try to say more you'd only be echoing other people - despite wanting to voice your support/no support. I also agree with results only being viewable to admins/devs/etc. I might be nosy enough to want to see how things are favoured - maybe an overall 'x number of people have voted' would be okay - but having it be a mystery would reduce... I guess peer pressure? The opportunity to change sides if you later change your mind would also be a good addition, I feel - though maybe limit the number of changes to like, idk 3 changes? With a confirmation each time so you don't have people just flip-flopping constantly without putting thought into their decision. |

I am leaning more towards Coal's view now. At least the part about it encouraging less constructive for and against arguments. If you don't feel strongly enough to comment, I guess it's not something we should be putting a vote in for. But on the other hand, I don't always have anything to say for less complex ideas and just want to support or not support as that is as deep as it goes for me. Maybe we should view these boards as more of a debate competition to convince or dissuade the staff from implementing or not implementing a new feature and not like a patition. |

I like this idea but as others have mentioned the votes should be hidden from users. |

I would like this but I also agree with Vampirette#638 Only the staff should see the vote results and for the players only see whether or not they supported I think done this way would help with some of the conflicts and heated arguments I've seen arguments take off simply because of or the no support out wheighed the supports |

Lioden has a similar feature, and I've wondered why they haven't put it here as well. Seems like it would be so much more simple |

I agree/support. Sometimes, especially with simple suggestions, there may not be much to discuss in the first place, or there may already be like 20 pages of discussion and you don't want to read through to see if what you are about to say was already brought up, but you do want to give your opinion in some way/ |

I would absolutely love this suggestion! Full support! It would be very much helpful, especially for those threads that are wildly active. I personally don't want to have to wade through hundreds of comments to get a general idea of what people are interested in, so I imagine staff wouldn't necessarily want to do that either. I wouldn't mind either way if the counts were hidden from everyone but staff, I would just like to have something to show my support, because I often find that anything I have to add to a conversation on the suggestion boards has already been said, and I see no use in repeating what's already there. |

Huge support, especially since you aren't allowed to comment basic "I support" and "I dont support" on suggestion threads. The buttons would make it way easier to track. Also in regards to seeing how many people have supported or not. I think it would be good if the votes were always shown, but if enough people don't like that idea then being able to see them after voting would be good too. |

This has all my support. I don’t mind if votes are shown or not, but I’ve been less inclined to check out suggestions here since finding out I can’t just click a button to support/not support something. The convenience of just clicking a button makes things much easier and I know I don’t often have much to add to conversation or much to say in general so I’d rather just get to the point of “I support” or “I don’t support.” |
