Limit the Number of Trades a Player Can Post

Maybe no more than 5 (or however many) identical trades? Idk, ig people could just sell stuff for 1SC more every time they reach the limit, but still. I can see the issue but an overall limit is not the solution |

Sorry, but no support. I agree that it's annoying to see that one person clogging up the trading center with singular item trades, but that's what the search options are for... to narrow your search. I don't think limiting trades would necessarily fix this from happening. |

Yeah, if you just got a page of one person's trades, you could just set the buyout cap as a little less than the BO on those trades? Easy way to check if there flooding the market with overpriced stuff |

If a muting/exclude option isnt viable for the trading center search options then these seems like a good solution. The Trading Center is already frustrating with unspecific trade names and descriptions meaning unneccessary clicks to sort through them, the added hundreds of duplicate old trades are annoying |

No support. People with large packs who choose to breed their females for profit will end up being penalized the most for this. Pups burn through resources therefore in order to make a profit they must be sold first, keep in mind pups can take a while to sell. If someone maxed out their limited amount of trades with pups alone and wanted to sell other stuff then they are out of luck. As far as items are concerned this is almost as bad. It might be annoying seeing pages of the same item listed but wait a few minutes and it will be bumped down. At one point I had about 2-3 pages worth of pineapple leaves listed for sale and as of now the majority of them have been sold off (I usually sell 1-2 of those every day) and while it is not an immediate sale it is a steady income. I have other things besides herbs that I want to sell and I would be unable to do that if I can only list one thing for sale every few days. Lastly, there would be an issue with SC and GC. I frequently buy GC for SC at my preferred ratio and every time I look for a seller who is selling at that ratio all the trades are usually bought out. It is already hard enough to find someone who buys or sells SC and GC at a preferred ratio so it would be unfair to make it even harder for the buyer and seller. I have had over thirty trades listed at one time (I currently have over twenty trades listed) and while some of the stuff I was selling was duplicates it was not like the pineapple leaf example I used because I only had a few items that were in smaller stacks and the rest was different. It is not always someone selling pages worth of a single item, sometimes it is multiple trades of different things. |

No support, the search filters are there for a reason. I can't imagine why you would browse the front page, unfiltered, for things to buy, anyway? You could be buying things overpriced without realizing it if you don't use the search to check. With regards to single GC for SC/SC for GC listed at a time: the existence of tons of these trades is what keeps it easy for people to change between currencies in the amounts they need. If you limited the amount that one person could list, you'd make the exchange rate far less stable as people buy up all the currency at a certain price point and the people who list currency in mass amounts would need to be online in order to refresh the supply. |

I think if there was going to be a limit it should be a "spam limit" and not a "overall limit". I only post maybe 10-20 trades across the day in what most people would consider "normal gameplay". So I'd suggest if you've created maybe 15 trades within 10 minutes, you have to wait 10 minutes before you post any more. Then maybe a 100 trade limit in a day, or a 200 trade limit overall? But like I say, I think the focus should be on avoiding spam, not limiting trades. For some players, trading unwanted items is their main source of income! |

I understand people using the TC as a currency exchange, and I'm not against that, nor using it to make money... |

No support. What you see on the front page don't really matter much as it moves a lot. Plus filters exit. |

A spam limit is just fine, but honestly, something needs to be done. As muttduck said, there is literally no reason anyone needs 5+ pages of the same thing over and over again. That's 100s of trades, which is what renders the filters obsolete. As I've tried to explain, one of the things mentioned by the admins is server strain, which is why they said scrying cost money. Every search is server strain. Having to search through 1700+ pages of trades is an enormous strain and putting it in again and again and again because you have to slowly whittle down to price to see what you can get is more than a bit ridiculous. You can't order trades by age, cost, etc. So basically you have to put in a price and search through dozens of pages, depending on if you're looking for food, a herb, or whatever. SO even with trades, it's still many, many pages to go through and a lot of strain on the servers, which could be avoided by a simple reasonable limit. No one is trying to punish people for making currency, but so far most arguments seem to come back to "but it would take me more effort to make money", which I don't think is a reasonable argument against an improvement of quality of life. No one is saying it's a lifetime limit. It would be a simple limit, and as said by several people, if something sells, you can immediately put more up. That is actually a good thing. It would keep the economy moving, demand up, and honestly make sellers MORE money because their trades would be considerably easier to find as the trading center would not be absolutely flooded with trades that are 2+ weeks old because people leave them up and forget about them or just hope someone will buy at a crazy price. Having a limit would mean that smart sellers would actually be making more profit, not less because their product would be moving more quickly, more easily found, and more in demand as the Trading Center would not be absolutely drowning. |
