Balance Snake Quests

Posted 2020-11-07 05:45:54

If you don't have time, you still have 2 days to finish it. You will miss one day of questing, sure, but every single game is built like that - you progress faster and get more stuff if you play it actively. If you don't, you get less. And I think that's fair.

Selecting a quest tier would be helpful, especially for newer players, or those who don't have much time on hand.

Today I got the quest to have 8 successfull hunts. Well, out of the 10 daily hunts my pack managed 3 successfull ones.... And that's annoying. I also can't have two hunting parties, cause I don't have the space, nor the SC for them/lair space/food etc...

I support, especially with the idea to select a quest tier. It would help out players early game so they have easier quests, and would help out older players so they don't always get very hard quests that they might not be able to complete easily for one reason or another.

Also, I suggest the 'complete X number of hunts today' quest should be programmed to ask for less hunts being successful during Winter, as many people struggle to complete more than 2 or 3 hunts, if that, during Winter.

I've got a hunting quest for the 4th time in a row. That means I need 2 days for a quest - so in 8 days I can do 4 quests... How is that balanced?

Support, obviously. The tier idea sounds the best imo, and of course the raising of rewards for harder quests. I wasn't planning on saying anything other than that in this thread, but it's just getting too frustrating not to.

Got a 9 hunt quest, took two days. Got crap SC/XP for it. Then today, the 7 hunt quest. I've used up 6 daily hunts, and have succeeded a whopping ONE time. Critter, of course. So this one's going to lead into tomorrow too, and if my party does as well tomorrow as they did today, potentially 3 days. I'm legitimately debating making a second hunting party and naming it 'For Stupid Quest.' That's how bad it is. If it gave some kind of better reward for these quests, it wouldn't be an issue to me. But the max of 125 XP/150 SC (from what I've seen) just isn't worth 2-3 days of work, it just isn't.

And am I the only one that comes across this? But I swear, as soon as I get a hunting quest, I start getting more large trails all the sudden, and my wolves just sort of forget what their paws even are. They can't catch ANYTHING, even at 100% prof/synergy, no clashing, 4/5 at 350+ stats each, first biome... But almost exclusively when I have a hunting quest. (And it's not just a winter thing, it's happened in other seasons.) I've heard of the decrease in spawns for certain quests too, and I'm really starting to wonder how true the artificial difficulty talk is. Am I just insane here or..?

Support 100%. This is the first time I've gotten a non-hunting quest and... I have to provide a moose bull carcass. An item that I have seen literally one of on the trading center. But SC is so hard to come across in this game, I'm not buying a snake skull to erase it when I"m likley gonna just get a similar or harder quest than even this. It's a waste of time. Either burn 2 full days worth of TRYING to get ANY source of SC if you aren't prepped with fancy genes to sell or waste your hard to gain SC on a snake skull to then net yourself back where you were at best.  The snake quests need a way better fix and tiers seem safe and fair that way everybody is happy. Even for those that poo-poo the idea that the snake quests should be hard, that's not how everybody plays. It isn't fair to hold everybody to hte standard of hardcore gameplay. Even if the easy quests don't pay out well, at least the completion is fun and worth the time to say "I did it." Especially for newbies. And for experienced players, more so for simply just having simple tasks now and again while also having a chance to really crank in SC and EXP via hard quests.

Support so much dude. I end up either losing most of my funds trying to even supply the goods for my quests or the hunts are too hard for a new team. It's easy to lose interest when you literally can't get anywhere without sinking tons of money into the GC system which is also horrible as is with how low priced the GC:SC conversion rate is.
