I think they are kinda like art pets? I've seen some players use different color eggs to let players choose and adopt a random pet. I don't think they're free since it does take the artist time to make, but I've seen some super cute ones!!

Some artist do random choosing or others show their adoptables (with watermarks so no stealing) for the buyer to choose
