Stagcall

The warm winds gently poked stagcalls short fur as he ran to the forest, with kestrelheart and pigeonfeather following behind.

Despite the initial silence, the trio's journey was soon accompanied by the rustling of the fallen leaves and the continuous chirping of birds above them.

Glancing back at the two cats walking side by side, trailing at the rear, kestrelheart and pigeonfeather, they were..quite close as if their fur would touch each other any moment...?

....?

Is it what he is thinking?

With a faint chuckle, stagcall refocused on their path ahead, picking up more speed, If they continue going straight, they'd quickly reach the waterfall where silverbloom was last seen.

Stagcall

After Stagcall spent some time navigating through the forest, he perked up his ears at the sound of rushing waters. Spotting a large rock, he hopped on it and saw the waterfall ahead—they had finally reached their destination!

Stagcall turned to Pigeonfeather and Kestrelheart at the rear. "Be alert and search for any traces of silverbloom." He urged the two, with his tail held high, Stagcall led the way towards a higher path beside the waterfall for a better vantage point.

Despite the slippery ground and the damp smell making it challenging to pick up Silverbloom's scent, Stagcall flinched when he spotted an entrance hidden behind the waterfall. He peeked through the entrance before turning back. "Kestrelheart, Pigeonfeather, hurry!" he called out loudly to ensure they heard him.

As he waited for the two lovebirds to join him, he pondered whether Silverbloom could still be in this location.

🪶 Kestrelheart

Kestrelheart kept her ears and eyes out for any sign of Silverbloom, and she just barely caught a glance of Stagcall's brief look, her skin prickling as she heard his chuckle. What was that for?

But, knowing well enough, she looked at Pigeonfeather from the corner of her eye, brushing her tail against the ground as she picked up the pace to follow the brown tom.

As he leapt onto the rock and spoke to them, she quickly nodded her head, taking a moment to do a full look around them before continuing to follow Stagcall. Her ears flicked at her irritation as there was no immediate scent of Silverbloom. What if she was watching them at this moment, waiting for one to stray too far?

Then, the she-cat thought she picked up a faint smell of the one they were tracking, right by the water's edge. Had she stopped for a drink?

But her attention was torn away by Stagcall's words, at first thinking something was wrong. She could then tell that he had simply found something, and she craned her neck a little. That's where Ravenpaw and Copper came out of. It wasn't too far of a stretch to assume Silverbloom knew of the place, too. (i can't remember if the patrol saw her in there)

Quickly, Kestrelheart bounded up towards the trail leading to the entrance, throwing a look over her shoulder to make sure Pigeonfeather was following. Once she got close enough to Stagcall, she told him what she had remembered.

"When we went on the patrol to find everyone, Ravenpaw had gone up this same trail and eventually came out with the young loner. I suggest we be careful - I'm not sure what all's in there. Also, I did catch a faint scent of what seemed to be Silverbloom, and it had a hint of badger... if she's not in here, we should check back at the spot."

Stagcall

"I see..." The brown tom didn't hesitate and ventured into the hidden entrance behind the roaring waterfall without waiting for Kestrelheart or Pigeonfeather. He cautiously made his way through the damp path in the pitch-black surroundings.

Inside, Stagcall spotted a strange object resembling a glowing stone. "What...is this?" He exclaimed in astonishment. The mysterious stone seemed to emit light, leaving him puzzled about its source and functionality.

The area was filled with more of these glowing stones, accompanied by faint whispers behind his ears that he tried to dismiss. Since Silverbloom was nowhere to be found, he decided to leave the eerie place and returned to the entrance behind the waterfall.

Upon his exit, stagcall remarked, "There were only peculiar rocks that emitted light inside, nothing of significance to add" Wondering if Silverbloom was still in here, he glanced around.

Pigeonfeather

Pigeonfeather trotted mostly silently behind the two other warriors, mulling over the situation, but sparing a glance for Kestrelheart. When he saw Stagcall leap into the cave, his whiskers twitched with surprise and he stepped forward to follow his leader into potential danger. However, when he reappeared a moment later, Pigeonfeather relaxed again.

"Mousebrain," he muttered affectionately, shaking his head. Seeing Stagcall disappear behind the waterfall into unknown territory like was terrifying, but he was glad to see him safe.

Upon hearing no sign of Silverbloom or anything significant, Pigeonfeather tilted his head thoughtfully. "Are there any other places on our territory she could hide? Any abandoned Twolegs structures or anything like that? Maybe an abandoned den? I don't know, I'm just tossing out ideas."

🪶 Kestrelheart

Kestrelheart's fur got a little fluffed up at Stagcall simply turned and went into the cave entrance, her worry of course skyrocketing. She had been thinking of Silverbloom ambushing them pretty much this entire time, and losing sight of one of her clanmates in the middle of this was not her ideal situation.

Since she was closer, she quickly turned her head around the corner of the cave. Her eyes slowly adjusted, but they didn't need to much after seeing the glowing rocks, twinkling as if they had their own lives. That's the only way she could describe it, at least. But, as Stagcall walked back out, she took a few steps back closer to Pigeonfeather, letting out her cautious breath.

Hearing the fluffy grey tom's quiet comment, Kestrelheart's whiskers twitched as she grinned before closely listening to what he had to offer, and she nodded thoughtfully. If Silverbloom hadn't been living here for the past week - the cave held no scent of her - she was definitely sheltering in another area. While the thought of a Twoleg structure made her mentally recoil (and make a small face), she wouldn't be too surprised if the deranged she-cat ended up at one. An abandoned den did sound more likely though, so she turned her head to look back at Stagcall.

Silverbloom

'They are your family' The words ran in the she-cat head as she woke up, clearly terrified. The silver tabby's fur was fluffed up and her eyes were slits. What was that dream? What did it mean? Where they mad she couldn't protect them on that dreadful day? Or were the trying to stop it from happening to others?

Questions entered and left Silverbloom's mind as she dragged herself out of her den. Her mind was made. The huge tabby would die by the claws of her friends, or die by her own. It was their choice. Kill a fellow cat, once their friend, or watch them tear themselves apart. 'Protect them' This was the only way she knew how. 'Save them' The deranged she-cat was the danger. She was almost as bad as the dogs...
