As the sun set in the woods, Margo found herself rising from slumber once again. She rubbed at her eyes sleepily, frowning at the alarm clock on her bedside table. It wasn't like her to sleep through the entire day- she'd at least get some of her chores done while it was still light outside, the sun filtering through her curtains giving some approximation of a day and night routine. But lately, she'd found herself feeling more drowsy, less enthusiastic, motivated to do anything but lay around all day.

It was a pain to drag herself up to a standing position, her head swayed and her vision grew black and fuzzy before it was blinked away. It was all the telltale signs that she'd been ignoring for weeks now- possibly even longer but her memories had started to grow fuzzy around the edges as time passed and she grew more and more fatigued.

She was hungry. Starving, even. And she needed to do something about it.

Oliver sighed as he carried a heavy duffle bag on his shoulders the small twigs and leaves snapped and crunched under his shoes I need to find somewhere to sit he thought he winced as he pulled the duffle bag off his shoulders the long cut on the side of his stomach Oliver lifted his ragged torn shirt slightly to that the scab had opened and small trickles of blood ran onto his hand "crap" he growled 		Raven-skys🌈 🏳️‍🌈

A deep hunger had settled in Margo's stomach, creeping up into her throat until the only thing she could think of was sinking her fangs into something. This was bad. This was the precipice to something much, much worse if she didn't get it under control.

She growled deep in her throat as she stumbled to the other side of the room, at least having the dignity to throw on a pair of combat boots and a hoodie before exiting further into the shack. Her heavy footfalls echoed in her ears as she crossed the room in a few quick strides and slammed the door open, barely able to contain herself. The dark woods met her, pitch-black darkness surrounded her but her vision had always been better at night.

Feeling her fangs grow, poking out behind her lips, she took in a deep breath, at least having the mind to relish in the cold, clear night air. But then her mind grew hazy once again and her skin prickled.

That was blood. She could smell blood nearby.

Her sensitive ears picked up the sound as she moved through the woods with expert precision. She swallowed, her throat was dry, anticipation pricked through her.

The smell of blood grew stronger the closer she got. Her mouth watered, hands clenched into fists. The sound of shuffling drew her attention and she slowed to a stop behind a tree, pressing against it and hoping the darkness hid her well. Peeking around, the scent of blood grew ever more intense, she could barely even see who was in front of her, the desperation of a meal clouding her brain.

he froze his whole body was still sore and he was still getting used to his new "senses" he looked around in a panic did they come back for him did they decide they weren't done with him yet?! the lanky teen shrugged it off "maybe it's just the drugs wearing off" he mumbled to himself he was still dopy from the drugs and meds they injected in him "but is anyone there?" he called then laughed to himself 		Raven-skys🌈 🏳️‍🌈

The sound of his voice cut through the cloud in Margo's brain. A human? she wondered, still crouched behind the tree. What's a human doing out at this time, this far into the woods?

It didn't stop her hunger though. Human blood was known to be the most potent, but also the most addicting. It was a risk even thinking about drinking it but right now she didn't care. The supposed human was right there. It was easy pickings, how could she not use this opportunity to get a good meal?

She crept forward, trying to keep as silent as she could until she was in the vague direction the stranger was facing. She took in a deep breath, the smell of blood drawing her in.

Standing up from her hiding spot, she leapt forward.

he shrieked as margo lept forward This is just great!... he ran and climbed up a tree as fast as he would only if I knew how to become the new me! he glared at the ground and watched margo from above "who are you?" he whispered...but it echoed giving away his spot "shit!" he cursed 		Raven-skys🌈 🏳️‍🌈

Claws out, her attempt at swiping, catching the stranger off guard and possibly drawing more blood, fell flat. She stumbled forward, just barely missing the stranger, and swore angrily at herself.

She could hear the sound of shoes scrabbling up wood, indicating that the stranger hadn't turned to flee. As she reoriented herself, she noticed the abandoned duffel bag on the floor, and then looked up as the stranger spoke. Her eyes shone like headlamps in the dark.

She scowled up at him, fangs peeking out from behind her lips. "You don't need to know that" she grumbled, dropping her gaze to look around, trying to figure out the best way to get up to the stranger.
