【Backstory】
⌦ In the beginning, Declan stumbled upon the vast prairie's land. It was rough, empty, and hardly a place to call home.  Though as with anything, Declan saw the potential in the area and began building a home for he and Molly Harring in what soon would become Copperhead Pass. He proclaimed himself the law and justice of Copperhead Pass at its forming.

Declan had strayed from his previous home fifteen years prior. He had lived within a community known as Vulture's Butte. It was a small town nestled east of the Devil's Canyons. True to its name, the area was known for the vultures that lingered in the sky. Though the desolate terrain wasn't what had caused him to leave. A rift had split the town in two for many years. A gang had claimed the town as their own—one called the Hascills for their leader Andrew Hascill—and tensions were quick to rise. Violence quickly followed whether it was from the Hascills or the townfolk themselves. Lying, thieving, and bar fights that easily spilled onto the streets were more common than ever. Though for Declan, the last straw was when he returned home one day to find the Hascills surrounding his home before he watched his parent's demise.

When he had originally set off from Vulture's Butte, Declan had been traveling aimlessly, desperate to come across a suitable place to stay, even if it was by himself. Yet in passing a pack of coyotes who had gathered by a large tree in the prairie, he had heard tales of a large lake off to the west, one they marveled about for having lush grasses and plenty of prey. Delighted by this, Declan had impulsively intruded on their meeting to try to ask its location, however, the coyotes merely scattered.

Though soon the sound of a commotion had caught his attention. Snarling and frantic pleas filled the air. With a concerned expression twisted on his face Delcan had changed course to investigate. Before him he had seen an unseemly sight. There was wolf at the source of the snarls. They were uneven, disoriented, and foaming near the corners of their mouth. They were rabid. The dark wolf had his target set on another paler female who cowered defensively. Though, as the rabid wolf lunged, Declan collided with him, throwing them aside. At the end of the brawl, Declan had managed to kill the sick wolf.

After attempting to console a luckily uninjured Molly Harring and detouring to help find where her pups had scattered to, Declan took pity on the trio and invited them to travel with him.

About

Molly Harring is a quiet, observant personality. While she often seeks to avoid confrontation, she is always willing to stand up for herself if need be. As the town's tailor, she is very precise and takes great care to pay attention to each detail of what she makes. She is dedicated to helping the town that helped her so much already.

Though, while she is usually willing to provide her skills to help others, Molly is more stingy when it comes to spending for herself or taking time to relax. She is often tired and stressed, having to also deal with her two children on a daily basis.

History

Early on, before any contact with the members of Copperhead Pass came to be, Molly lived as a rouge, traveling from place to place with her mate, Vern. They wanted to live a new life, one not filled with laws and packs who only belittled them. Now, they were going to live off the land and their own work.

Once when they had settled in a home in the forest, Molly and Vern had set to work as usual to make the place workable. However, soon Molly would find out she was pregnant. Upon relaying the happy news to Vern, she found he was unhappy, complaining that now (with pups) they would have to be confined to one spot. The two would constantly argue whenever the topic of pups was brought up, but Molly insisted she shouldn't be traveling when her children were so near due.

By their birth, Vern had hardly been around. She was forced to be on her own during the delivery. A few days later, Vern returned, angry and fuming. His eyes were empty and he stumbled, disoriented from the world around him. Vern didn't respond to her voice and was violent. The fight that ensued caught the attention of a passing stranger who intervened, killing Vern. 

The stranger had declared Vern rabid after the battle and introduced himself as Henry Declan. He explained how he had been on his way by and heard the commotion. While thankful for his help, Molly insisted she had no time to mourn as she needed to find where her pups had gone. Surprised at the development, Declan offered to help search for them. They were soon found in a hedge nearby and after some coaxing, they reappeared.

Afterward, Declan offered Molly his companionship. She could travel with him if she liked and he could help take care of them. Agreeing, the four of them began heading towards a large lake in the prairie Declan had heard about on his travels.

Personality

Mason is a lighthearted, fun-loving wolf. He likes to spend his time exploring the limits of Copperhead Pass with Declan, and always tries to come up with something creative to do next. Despite this, Mason is dedicated to his work as the town's butcher and keeps a keen eye out for details. Mason also takes on the non-confrontational edge from his mother, but with a little coaxing from Declan, he isn't afraid to stand up for himself.

History

One of two pups from Molly Harring, Mason's life started out rough. From a young age, he was on the move constantly after the death of his father, Vern. Mason had never known his father, but that never mattered to him. Molly had never told her pups what had happened to Vern, or that Declan had been the one to end the wolf's suffering. Growing up, Mason had always seen the sheriff as a role model, doing what he could to be just like the sheriff. His mother had taught him how to properly cut and skin animals during their time at Copperhead Pass and he now takes up the duty of preparing meat for the townsfolk.

The town in the Copperhead lakebed was all he ever knew growing up, and Mason had no complaints. It was just how things were. He had seen the start of it and continued to watch proudly as more wolves gathered to call the lakebed home just as he had. Eventually, two sisters would arrive to the town, and he'd fall for an orange wolf named Sadie Bristol: a tough, stalwart dame with a knack for chaos.

Reese first appeared on the edges of Copperhead Pass in the grasslands. His first act upon seeing one of its members, Declan, was to steal from him. Stealing Declan's prey he'd let out a bitter laugh as the old wolf fell into the trap he'd dug. Reese had then promptly run off with another robbery gone well.

His second appearance saw Reese captured by the spirit monsters, his partner in crime for the day dead on the ground near him. To his surprise, he'd been rescued by Declan and brought back to the lakebed for treatment.

As if to punish him for his previous crimes, Declan assigned Reese to work as a ranchhand under Lianne Mayberry. He detested the work at first, gathering instead to return to the free hills of the prairie...out where he eventually realized he couldn't make it on his own, not with the appearance of these monsters.
