(@Rainy Mazie approached Rain and Ruger)

Diablo | Diablo's Pack | Alpha | Male
Diablo's brown eyes turned to narrow slits at the news from Aria. "Did Halo mentioned if they behaved like a pack? Or were they just rallying to protect a nurse and pups?" He tried to ignore the suspicion worming in his belly. Strays rarely protected one another, but he found they were quicker to protect pups or the elderly. Could this be proof of a pack forming?

Aria | Diablo's Pack | Beta | Female

Aria shook her head. "No, she didn't she just said that she found a stray, but too many others defended them so she couldn't take them on. Not by herself." She told her leader, her ear flicking softly. She knew what he was thinking. Could this be the start of strays forming a new rival pack? Her gaze hardened at the thought. They wouldn't dare.

Diablo | Diablo's Pack | Alpha | Male
Diablo knew that the chances of a pack forming were close to nothing. He worked hard to spread fear throughout the city to keep the strays in line. Still, he couldn't justify not investigating. "Shadow, I want you to stay here and guard the house. Aria, Aragon, we're going to go investigate to see if they're still in that area."

Ruger | The Strays | Beta | Male
He watched as the two others disappeared into the building, a sense of unease washing over him the moment they were out of sight. As the long-coated shepherd spoke, he turned his large head. "We're alive," he half-chuckled, half-sighed. Ruger had noticed Rain's eyes drift away behind him, the tight silence that she had left them in. It was obvious something was on her mind, likely a lot of things given the situation she'd found herself in. And then, that glint of hopelessness he had saw in her, was gone. He recognized that feeling in himself, the moments that he needed to put himself aside for the sake of those who needed him, and those too small to protect themselves.

The German Shepherd had his respect from the beginning, but she had earned it as well. "Thank you for your kindness, miss Rain. I will guard them with my life." He assured, large nose brushing gently over the puppies in front of him. "Hello, little ones." He spoke gently, though the moment was abruptly ended by the startling sound of yet another stray.

Ruger's head snapped up from the two newborns, amber eyes settling quickly on the nearly all-black Border collie. He took a step forward to position himself defensively over the puppies, though he attempted to hide his stress. "Can we help you?" He asked, though even he cringed at the question. It was bold, and maybe not the position to be taking right now; however, he didn't have that feeling in the pit of his stomach, the one that told him a fight was about to break out. Maybe it would be okay.

Shadow | Diablo's Pack | Fighter | Male
As he waited through the retelling, and then through Diablo's orders, the malinois nodded. "Yessir," he affirmed. While he may have preferred being assigned a route to maim strays back into submission, he acknowledged that that wasn't the instruction he was given. Without another word, he turned from the group of leaders and stalked off to the well-pressed trail that he had paced around the house. He would patrol for hours during his off time, just because he liked the exercise.

Chico | The Strays | Scout | Male
The longer he waited in the metal cabinet, the more anxious he grew. It wouldn't be long before he could no longer control his trembling, and he knew that would be their downfall. While he could hold out a while longer, he hoped these dogs were just passing through. Had they already lost the home they had just found? What about the stick pile they planned?

Diablo | Diablo's Pack | Alpha | Male
Diablo could see through Shadow's obedient demeanor that he would've rather joined to patrol. What Shadow didn't know is that Diablo remembered giving Shadow the order to rest. The Malinois wouldn't be any use to them if he was exhausted. Diablo nodded for Aria and Aragon to follow him. "Halo, lead the way," Diablo grumbled, though he could easily follow her scent trail back to where her path had crossed with the Strays.

Apollo | Strays | Warrior | Male
Apollo kept his eyes and ears open as he walked further into the warehouse. He picked up the scent trail of two dogs and followed them. They needed to be sure that they were alone. Apollo followed the trail to a closed door. "In here," He whispered to River. Apollo nosed the door open to find himself in a little office with plush carpet, a desk, and a filing cabinet.

Echo | Strays | Warrior | Female
Echo tensed when she heard the door open. Would she have to fight to the death here and now? She would do it, but she also didn't want to die. Her story didn't feel complete. There was so much more she knew she was meant to accomplish.

Chico | Strays | Scout | Male
In the silence of the warehouse, the slow creak of the door felt like an eternity. Through the papers he had tucked away into, Chico attempted to catch a whiff of the intruders, but all he got was stale ink and an unidentified scent of stray dog. He knew he couldn't do much here, he never could in the face of a fight -- But, he could run, and he could get through most openings that other's couldn't.

Inhaling deeply, likely audibly, Chico jumped from his cover, files exploding in a flurry around him. He only had a split second to pull this off, if he could at all. The moment his paw pads touched the carpet, he was off. Charging straight at the massive white shepherd and his companion, he veered just beside them and out the door, barking expletives the entire way past, hoping to catch their attention enough to give Echo an escape.

Apollo | Strays | Warrior | Male
All Apollo could make out in the room was a flurry of papers and a flash of tan. He spun around just in time to see a tan Chihuahua speeding down the hall towards the large room. "Hey!" Apollo called out, giving chase. "We mean you no harm!" He hoped that he hadn't scared the smaller dog.

Echo | Strays | Warrior | Female
Echo followed Chico's lead, leaping from her hiding place and dodging past the Aussie standing in the doorway. Her heart hammered against her chest like a trapped bird. She had to follow Chico and the German Shepherd because if he decided to hurt Chico... A growl grew in her throat at the thought.

River | Strays | Warrior | Female
She stayed close to Apollo, as she surveyed the big room. There didn't seem to be anyone here and the room didn't offer much places to hide. The warehouse could be a good home for the pack, depending how things go with the dogs who were already here. She nodded and followed Apollo into the office. She was so surprised by the files whirling around in the room that it took her a moment to react, which allowed another dog to run past her. She quickly spun around and dashed after them.

Mazie | Strays | Scout | Female
The question caught her off guard. That was not what she was expecting. She had expected something more hostile, especially since there were small pups. "I don't think so." She said cautiously. Now is probably a good time to leave. She thought. It seemed to be unlikely that the rottie would attack her, if she just left. Not after he asked her if they could help her. Despite this she decided to stay a moment longer, just to see what the rottie would say now.
