Clover | Diablo's Pack | Hunter | Female
Hunting with Callie was pleasant so far. She was just as quiet on her paws as Clover. Clover had been on a few hunt with some of the other females and not all of them were as silent or graceful with their movements. She even felt a little disappointed thinking of a recently failed hunt when she paired up with another hunter. She couldn't remember her name, though she didn't seem the friendliest either. Her attention was brought back to Callie as she answered Clovers question. With a half hearted smile she answered the other dame. "I haven't been here terribly long. A few months perhaps, but nothing more. I don't really know anyone or anything about them either. A good place to start though is with those you work alongside." She said with a smile. "How long have you been a part of the pack??"

(@Lupus, I'm just going to squeeze Ace in with Diablo and Aragon. Let's pretend he was there the whole time lol)

Ace | Diablo's Pack | Fighter | Male
Ace walked slightly behind the alpha and Aragon. He knew that they had a long history that raised Aragon's rank above him. Still, he was eager to prove his worth to them. The tri-colored Australian Shepherd shook out his long coat, his hackles raising as they passed the human with the pet dog.

(@Jack I totally lost Chico's response and figured it must be back there...I was right.)

Echo | Strays | Warrior | Female
Echo flinched away from the sounds of dogs fighting. She was never much of a fighter. Sure, she could hold her own if need be, but she much preferred peace. Echo glanced down at Chico who listened so attentively. She wondered if she'd made a lifelong friend in him; she hoped so. "Yes," Her voice cracked with sadness. "I was pretty bruised up...so were the kids. It broke my heart when I was torn away from them."

River | Strays | Warrior | Female
She smiled and introduced herself. "Hello, my name is River. No, I was actually here to help, but it seems like there is no need for that now." They seemed to be a bit suspicious of her. She would probably be that ttoo if she hadn't seen the, defending the husky. There would probably be fighters from Diablo's pack to chase them off pretty soon. She glanced in the direction the black retriever ran into. She wondered how Lon it would take her to alert the pack.

Chico | The Strays | Scout | Male
"It seems like you really cared about them." The tan chihuahua seemed distant in his words. Caring about humans was completely unfathomable to him, he had never encountered one to show him kindness. He loathed the dogs he saw walking along the street with their owners, but he was only jealous and hurt. It was what he was promised. "I'm sorry." He didn't know what else to say, but he felt an apology was necessary.

Ruger | The Strays | Beta | Male
Ruger offered a gentle nod. He was extremely exhausted, and his legs trembled beneath him as they strained to hold his weight. "Well River, Apollo, and the lovely lady who's name I haven't learned yet, that lab was right. We should consider moving on, parting ways, and keeping our heads down." The towering rottweiler raised a heavy paw to begin walking the crowd out of the alley, teetering on three legs before heavily planting it back down again. "You all should go ahead, I'll stay here and buy you some extra time." As he spoke, his legs began to give-way beneath him, and he lowered his belly to the ground.

Apollo | Strays | Warrior | Male
Apollo eyed the Rottie, noticing how his legs shook with fatigue. Although he posed a threat due to size alone, Apollo could see that he was tired. If Diablo's Pack ganged up on him, they'd have no trouble taking him down. No, he couldn't let him stay here alone. Maybe he could convince him to join them. "You could come with us," Apollo suggested, glancing at Rain to gauge her feelings on the matter. "We were actually hoping to start a pack to rival Diablo's. Well, not necessarily rival, but to create a support system for the Strays. We needn't survive alone."

Echo | Strays | Warrior | Female
Echo nodded slowly, lost in her thoughts as she padded alongside Chico. "I did care for them. With them, I never knew a cruel word or touch." She noticed how Chico seemed aloof speaking about humans like this. "What's your experience with them, if you don't mind my asking?"

Rain | The Strays | Alpha | Female

| Rain nodded her head approval at Apollo. "We need to find someplace to stay that is far enough away that Diablo can't smell us, but something close enough that my pups and Ruger can travel." she responded, her eyes flickering with ideas. Oh and you can call me rain Ruger" She chuckled in amusement. "I heard there was an old warehouse nearby. How does that sound?" Rain's puppies sniffled closer to her, opening their small jaws and yowling their complaints. "So, where will it be?" |

Chico | The Strays | Scout | Male
Though he should have expected that question with the way the conversation was headed, Chico still stuttered when it was asked. "I was born in a cage, they moved me to a smaller cage, and they slowly took everyone I ever loved from me." He finally said, softly. It was a brief response, and while Chico struggled with most social cues, he understood that Echo likely didn't want to hear of all of the tragedy he'd experienced right now. "But, yknow, that's why I'm out here now." The pep had returned to his step, and he was once again prancing along beside her. "No more cages, no more needles, no more NOTHIN', unless I say so." He grinned smugly.

Ruger | The Strays | Beta | Male
From below them, Ruger lazily licked his lips. These young dogs... they never knew when to quit. "That's a beautiful name," he began to say, groaning as he once again clawed his way up from the ground, gentle eyes settling once more on the young pups she had with her, "and awfully kind of you." A soft chuckle passed his lips, raspy and exhausted as he was. Protecting was in his blood, and the idea that he might have a purpose again was just enough to motivate him to at least try.

Females and pups were the priority, and Ruger had made up his mind the second he rounded that corner -- he would kill for Rain and her pups, or die trying. As long as this old brute was around, nothing would touch her, or any of these dogs who had enough compassion to show up for the young Husky girl for the matter. "Lead the way, miss, and rest assured I will be behind you." He offered a thankful glance to Apollo before motioning with a flick of his head to start moving.

Shadow | Diablo's Pack | Fighter | Male
The night had been quiet, and Shadow sat patiently awaiting his relief in the park. In attempt to avoid most others of his pack, the Belgian Malinois volunteered to operate night shift guarding alone. Between his scheduled rounds of patrolling the park, Shadow sat like a statue in the darkness, awaiting an unassuming trespasser to fall within his grasp.

The mostly black dog took his job extremely seriously, and having earned a taste for blood during his time ruling the ring after Diablo's departure, coming across him in his element, and within strict territory lines was almost guaranteed to be a death sentence. He turned his head slightly up to the sun as it continued to rise over top of him. The park was beginning to fill in now: humans running from nothing, leashed dogs that stunk of leisure. Shadow wasn't often made to wait this long for his relief, and he grew anxious in the light. His front paws shuffled in front of him, tail wrapping tighter around his thigh as he tried to disappear into the bushline he was standing in. What is taking Aragon so long... he thought with an audible huff.

While he respected Aragon, Shadow was growing aggravated with the loud soundscape orchestrating itself behind him. He contemplated giving the humans something to run away from, before rising to his feet. He decided that he needed to go find Aragon and meet him halfway before he did something else that would draw the Dog Warden's attention to him. The malinois already had an impressive bite record, and he really didn't need the extra publicity-- plus, the way humans squealed when they're being attacked is annoying, and Shadow didn't want the headache right now.

He kept his head low, pawing off towards the building he'd learn to call home, hoping to catch Aragon on the way so he could mostly playfully chew him out for being late and forcing him to abandon post.

Diablo | Diablo's Pack | Alpha | Male
Diablo padded alongside Aragon in the direction of where Shadow was stationed. The Malinois insisted on guarding the park at night, something that Diablo could appreciate. He growled slightly at a pet that studied them a little too closely. The little rat shied away towards its human and a smirk crossed Diablo's lips. Up ahead, Diablo could see Shadow's form approaching.

Ace | Diablo's Pack | Fighter | Male
Ace followed Diablo's stare to find Shadow coming towards them. He knew that Shadow didn't respect him as much as the other fighters - they had history. Still, Ace struggled to feel accepted by the pack. He hoped that his diligence and loyalty might one day be enough to win them over.

Callie | Diablo's Pack | Hunter | Female
"Come on, if we work together we can probably catch more rabbits." Callie said to Clover. She lifted her cinnamon-colored nose to the wind, catching the scents of the forest. Her sharp blue eyes darted to the right where a rabbit sat munching on the undergrowth. Callie immediately lowered her head and tail, stepping ever so quietly across the foliage.

Apollo | Strays | Warrior | Male
Apollo gave a chuff of approval that the Rottie - Ruger - had decided to join them. That meant more protection for Rain, for the pups. "I'll lead the way since I know where it is." He padded over to Rain, his eyes asking permission to pick up one of the pups like before. Apollo still couldn't get over how tiny they were.

Echo | Strays | Warrior | Female
Echo stifled a gasp at Chico's story. How horrible to have one's existence confined in a cage, to have everyone you loved taken away. She supposed that she knew a thing or two about loss, but she didn't feel that she could compare it to what Chico had lived through. At least she had known warmth, love, and play. "You'll never feel that way again." Echo said, almost as if she were promising him herself.
