I think that we need more explore encounters that isn't purely for getting more seeds, because explore was incredibly dull for this event.
I like the idea of more story line, but only if it's not going to be as heavily time locked. A large portion of players weren't able to complete the storyline this year due to how heavily timegated this event is, which is very annoying considering they'll now have to focus the event for two more years if they want to get their achievements.
Perhaps the addition of plant bounty might be fun next year? An NPC could request a certain type of flower, maybe even specify a quality. Players could work to complete the request and gain GP or maybe even items/choice of a few mutated plants. The event did fall into a pretty dull loop as time went on, something more complicated might spice things up.
