Pigeonpaw huffed in indignation, turning away from his mentor. He was so close to totally forgiving Nightwing and just dropping the whole matter, but these cats seemed to fail to understand the base of the matter. They had broken the Warrior Code. The only thing that made them better than rogues. Nightwing and Fiercehawk weren't even trying to repent, they were just trying to cover up what they had done. It was like they wanted to be disloyal to their Clans. It broke Pigeonpaw's heart, trying to decide whether he wanted to blindly trust his mentor or uphold the Warrior Code. The Warrior Code was the foundation of everything Pigeonpaw believed in, but the bond he and Nightwing had formed was so real... |

"Okay, Fiercehawk, I'm gonna have to escort you." Nightwing said, walking towards the Windclan border. "We can meet up again, later... maybe a sunrise after this, at moon-high." |

Pigeonpaw fumed as he stalked through the forest, heading away from Nightwing and Fiercehawk. Well, whatever. He would catch so much prey, and then Patchstar would have to make him a warrior. And then Nightwing would forgive him, and tell him that Pigeonpaw was right after all, and Nightwing would never break the Warrior Code again, and then he and Cherrypaw- Pigeonpaw shook his head, dashing those thoughts away. Those were the thoughts of a kit. Maybe Nightwing would see the error of his ways someday, but he sure wasn't right now. Sighing, Pigeonpaw dropped into the hunter's crouch with the ease of long moons of practice, scenting a mouse in the underbrush. He stilled his anger and frustration for a moment, focusing totally on the kill. He jumped quickly, dispatching the prey with one quick bite. |

"Alright," she said reluctantly, "Tomorrow. Moon-high, like you said." |

"I'll try." Nightwing started following his apprentice's scent, noticing him stalking a critter. |

Pigeonpaw dropped his mouse a little to the side as he scented a thrush nearby as well. Remembering to move without brushing any of the undergrowth - as well as keeping upwind of the bird, Pigeonpaw was able to successfully stalk the thrush as well. There was one heart-stopping moment where he thought the bird would fly out of reach, but he caught it with his claws and killed it swiftly, burying it with the mouse. |

Nightwing watched in pride as his apprentice dispatched one piece of prey of another. His moons in the medicine cat's den hasn't dulled his hunter instincts at all! Just a little more work at battling and he's gonna be ready to be a warrior! |

Pigeonpaw paused, scenting the air, then meandered in a new direction, trying to smell where he could find more prey. |

Crowpaw made his way to the fresh-kill pile, picking out a juicy mouse for his breakfast. He dug into it, savoring the flavor of the meat. Leafbare was on its way, but the prey was still good, and Crowpaw intended to enjoy it while he still could. Looking around, Crowpaw tried to see if there was any cat looking for a conversation. Most of his littermates seemed to be busy with their training now, and Crowpaw wasn't used to the silence that he spent a lot of his time in now. |
