"Sure, I'll go to the apprentice's den now." Blossompaw headed off towards the apprentice's den to wake up her brother. When she entered the cozy area, she trotted over to Blazingpaw and prodded him. "Wake up, sleepyhead!" |

When Blazingpaw refused to move, Blossompaw went out again, finding Pupheart. "That bear thinks he's in hibernation!" Blossompaw exclaimed. "Well, if he's not waking up, could we start out tour now?" |

"Sure," Pupheart meowed, "after all, I'm not his mentor...I'm sure Moonpetal will take him out later. Now, are there any parts of the territory you're particularly excited to see?" |

"Hmm... nothing in particular... could we avoid the Carrion place though?" |

"Alright, that's probably too dangerous for an apprentice anyway," Pupheart agreed, leading Blossompaw into the territory. |

Breathing a sigh of relief, Blossompaw walked outside camp and admired the huge pine trees around her. Exciting scents drifted in the air, Blossompaw recognized mouse and toad. "Where are we going?" Blossom asked, curious. |

Pupheart flicked his tail, looking through the trees as he decided what direction to head in. "We'll probably head diagonal here away from Carrionplace and then trace along the Thunderpath. Remember to stay close to me while we're near the Thunderpath, Blossompaw. I don't want to see you messing around. Monsters are incredibly dangerous and vicious, and they will not hesitate to take a cat's life." |

Blossompaw shivered at the thought of monsters, ruthless, stinky creatures whos paws could squish a cat flat. "O-okay Pupheart..." Blossompaw replied. Walking after her mentor, she looked around, in awe of her surroundings. Most other cats thought Shadowclan had the worst share of the forest, including some of her own clanmates, but Blossompaw couldn't imagine another home. The river next to camp gurgled and glistened in the sunlight. The towering pine trees offered shelter for animals such as birds and squirrels. Blossompaw was so caught up in looking around, she almost forgot to look forwards and would've walked straight into the Thunderpath is she hadn't scented the rancid smell of monsters. "Ew... that smells... weird." Blossompaw said, scrunching up her nose |

Pupheart nods. "The monsters smell absolutely atrocious. It's one of the few advantages we have over them. If you ever smell a monster where you think there shouldn't be one, then run." He made sure to walk on the side closest to the Thunderpath so that he could try to protect Blossompaw if worst came to worst. Pupheart had had a denmate when he was an apprentice who was hit by a monster and he never forgot the gory mess that was dragged into camp and the way the apprentice's mother wailed over the heap that used to be her kit. A shudder ran through him and his tail momentarily bushed out. "Here, let's go a little further away," he muttered, steering Blossompaw more towards the marsh. |

Blossompaw noticed how Pupheart's tail puffed out and his facial expression briefly changing. Something bad happened near the Thunderpath... Blossompaw had the uncanny ability to read or at least slightly understand a cat's emotions just by their body gestures. She always thought it was normal, until she started freaking everyone out when she "read" her mother's face as a sign of pity. "She's your real mom, why would she feel pitiful about you?" they said. She was shook back to reality when she heard Pupheart's voice and nodded, steering away from the unnaturally black color of the thunderpath. Every step in the marshes got her paws wet, but Blossompaw didn't mind. She was to worried about her mentor, and what terrible memories he had about the thunderpath. |
