Yes actually, some of them do change colors rather drastically depending on their genetics (those with grey or silver genes, or babies with roan, in particular)

2 trips to the hidden cove (one with ambrosia both with prisms) 3800 SC (I think)
1 trip to the forbidden forest (with a prism, and a golden apple) 6800 SC
And 1 trip to the sacred mountain (with a prism) 8400 SC (I think, correct my math if I'm wrong)

Uuuhm lets say 4gc and your choice of lavender/incense (the gender selection items) or a prism to go with the expedition.
