Laughter rumbled from Lilith as she stared at him, "Love? Did I ever mention anything like that? Love though? I really have never thought about it though one of my elders has often reminded me I'm not getting any younger." She shook her head slightly before walking again. "Our current course is the Meeting Lake, Eliza should still be waiting there. Your Alpha intends to test a theory presented to her by a wolf named Zaver. She plans to see if the Faithful Grounds is safe from the Turned. She wants to lure them here...in my mind possibly endangering everything we have so far. Regardless of our division, we have kept balance." She glanced at him as they walked, wondering how he might react to such information.

Vera glanced at Echo who now wore a solemn look, "It can't be guaranteed though...you know that Vera." The young wolf's voice shook slightly before looking to the sky. "I know, but I can still hold high hopes, there hasn't been any mention of others vanishing now."

Echo looked back at River, she knew not everyone knew her story. That was because she didn't want them to. They would hold pity over her head and she had received enough of that. "Mother and father....they are part of the Vanished...either that or they knew something was wrong...knew they were turning and they abandoned me. So...I want to know how to fend for myself. I don't want to be helpless again. Living off scraps, hiding in fear of everything...." She gave River a small sad smile. "If it were to come to that point again I want to be able to take care of myself and others rather than be a burden to them. I suppose even that is an option....having been a burden to them with everything else that was going on in this world."

He was keeping a rather calm expression, it made her feel proud of the male for some reason. "I'm sure she has her doubts about this, but despite how I asked her not to go through with it she still plans to. So...I've warned my pack and left a wolf I trust in charge should I not return. I will help Eliza with the powers your side so despises or simply can't accept. Being able to create a force field should help. If these grounds aren't protected like they hope....maybe..." Lilith let a low growl rumble from her throat at the thought, "Maybe I can push those mindless monsters back. I've been bitten by them before and have not turned. So I at least know I won't turn into one of those things."

She nodded, "It's understandable. Believe it or not those of us who have gained these powers aren't even fully sure how to accept it. If I'm to be honest, not to say all are this way. But I know for myself it is still that way. I'm now different from what I was...and there have been so many changes. This is partly why I suggested we divide."  She glanced up at the sky, "I know perhaps with time others will be more accepting of these powers. I also decided this division with the thought of those of us possibly losing control if these powers. I guess there is a reason for me to have gained the ability to create a barrier."

It never got easier, hearing Echo's doubts, her sadness. A very heavy burden that no pup should ever face. What hurt her the most was when Echo began to think she had been a burden to her parents and that was why she'd been left alone. Vera moved in nuzzling Echo gently l, "I told you before they would have never seen a pup like you as a burden....never." she said with a soft smile.

Echo nuzzled Vera in return, yes.... Vera had told her this many times yet without answers she couldn't rule it out. "No need to tell me sorry. I know many others have gone through so much. Honestly before they vanished I knew nothing of what was going on. Before Vera found me my only thought has been...they left me. But after meeting Vera and all of you I know there are other possibilities. That alone does make me feel a bit better."

She chuckled, "As I told Eliza, all I want is the survival of our kind. There is far too much trying to kill us off as is. I can get where those without powers may not like those with it. There are lots of reasons, such as them being jealous or fearful. I know it doesn't help that some who have gained powers can be a bit overly confident. I think they forget they aren't immortal...they can still be killed. Or possibly even turned. I can't say that these powers guard us from not turning. Honestly I hope we never find out because if a wolf with power were to become Turned..." Heavy silence clung to the air, she didn't need to speak of the terrors that could cause.
