Minutes passed of lazy observation, but sleep didn't come and the boredom grew. Rats, Starkov cursed mentally, rolling over. Perhaps he should do something else other than watching his packmates look equally bored. Hopping off the rock ledge, he shook his fur out and considered his options. It may be beneficial to get closer with some of these wolves. Starkov walked over to the prey pile he'd just left earlier, taking up the carcass of the fawn he killed. Then, Starkov made the rather questionable decision to approach Soren, the dead fawn dangling in his jaws. Starkov trotted over to where the other was chilling, noting the dull expression on the other's face with amusement.

"You look bored out of your mind, my friend," Starkov drawled, dropping the carcass between him and the other. "Want something to eat?" Soren was around Starkov's age, and unlikely to be afraid of the ex-loner. So perhaps the two could get along?

Starkov hummed lowly in agreement, "Well, you're free to share with me today."

The male tore off a hind leg for himself, but otherwise wasn't too hungry as he gnawed on it. "Better to eat while there is still food left around here," Starkov noted. He'd been noticing that the prey around here was slowly, but steadily becoming more scarce. Maybe driven off by the Turned, or simply being hunted out due to the limited area the wolf packs could roam. "How have the hunters been faring?" the older male asked. It wasn't entirely like him to be so... conversational. But, he was bored. And smart enough to see the benefit of connections around here.

Stream? The name sounded familiar, though the former loner was still working on putting names to faces. However, pack numbers had dwindled due to the Turned, and admittedly, remembering the few wolves left around was not very difficult. One good thing out of this crisis, if it could be considered that. Starkov listened while he ate, ears twitching. "'Minus Stream'," he repeated, mildly puzzled. "There were at least four other hunters around here, if I observed correctly." Or perhaps he didn't? Surely, there were more hunters apart from just Soren and Stream. Though Starkov wouldn't know where they were.

"Ah." Starkov glanced in the direction Soren pointed out, spotting the other hunter. She was young, maybe 3 Winters by Starkov's estimate. Much to his amusement, the she-wolf seemed to even notice when she was being watched. Good instincts, Starkov could already tell as he thought to himself. When he was around the same age, he was still stirring up trouble and getting up to no good. Hardly the dutiful individual that each of his packmembers seemed to be. If anything, the ex-loner was curious as to how they were raised to be so.
