Those Who Survive ~ Wolf RP Thread

Starkov traced the line of scent markers, the thin boundary separating the two packs. One he considered acceptable, and the other... not so much. Although, everything seemed to be in order around here. Nothing unusual. At least the Powered seem to understand what boundaries were. Starkov had only been around the pack territories for a pawful of days. Not long enough, so he was familiarizing himself with the lay of the land. Noticing a scent on the wind, the large male paused. Unfamiliar. Another wolf. Then two? His tail raised and the ex-loner pricked his ears, his good right-eye scanning the treeline. And cautious, about the weaker vision of his left.

Starkov scowled slightly, realising that the scent of the wolf was changing. Changing because they were approaching. The male shook himself and watched as the other wolf slowly came into view. From what he could detect, the other was a she-wolf... And that was about the extent he could tell from here. Starkov approached slowly, but remained on the land belonging to the Powered pack. Stopping at the line marking the Normal Pack territory.

"Greetings, stranger..." Starkov called lowly, his voice a cautious rumble. "You are aware this is pack territory?" The she-wolf didn't look like she was from a pack around here, or perhaps Starkov's observation was wrong. But, he'd much rather deal with a loner over a wolf from the Powered pack.

Well, toss me at a grizzly bear... Starkov cursed inwardly, bristling slightly as the stranger neared close. Close enough for him to tell. This loner was one of the Powered. Maybe not necessarily of the other pack, but a wolf with powers nonetheless. Starkov shifted from wary friendliness to just... wariness and mild suspicion. After all, a normal wolf wouldn't bear such antlers. Or be green. Ish. Starkov huffed, not returning the respectful gesture, but not yet aggressive. A fight would be rather unnecessary at the moment.

"I see..." the male replied, his tone being one of warning. "However, I would not advise being so... oblivious in the future." Starkov flicked his head towards the direction of the Powered Pack territory. "If you must continue travelling, I suggest you do so in that direction." Better for your kind, he thought internally. There were already enough Powered individuals in the supposedly Normal pack.

Suddenly, Starkov felt a presence behind him. Startled, he whirled around with a snarl. How did someone get behind me so easily!? He growled, taking a step back with increasing annoyance. That was too close... He bit back his curses and glared a little at the newcomer. She didn't look Powered... But who knew? Starkov didn't like surprises, and was wary again.

"Hah... That makes two wolves today who need to watch themselves more carefully..."
